Are these college teams the Rovers play...the real soccer teams from the colleges or just kids who go to that college?
They are the actual soccer teams from the college. Kind of fun to watch 14-15 yr old girls being able to not just hang with girls 5-6 yrs older...but beat them as well! This week the Rovers play Calvin and Calvin has scored like 35 goals in 4 games. Win or lose, the Rovers improve each game.
I am a parent of one the the U15 girls who plays for the Rovers. My daughter selected the program because she wanted to improve as a player, the club and coach Alex has not let her down! This team will no doubt compete very well at the Premier 1 level this fall and could turn out to be a threat for the state cup at some point...time will tell. Every player that has played for this team and stuck it out is a better player today because of it. If you need proof come watch them play or train.

Agreed!! Key words were "stuck it out".Not always easy for the girls, but they do seem to have fun!
Why "stuck it out"? It's a u15 team so presumably will be done playing here in a week or two. Presumably they played a fall outdoor season, switched to indoors in late fall, and will be done in a week or two. Did kids quit?
Rovers teams are having a great year. Practices and winter games are at peak participation. U14 beating High School teams and U15 beating College teams in winter play. Yes, two U15 players left after fall. Their spots were quickly filled by players desiring to train and play with Rovers over the winter. Happy kids and Happy parents. Come see them play or jump into a training session. My daughter is having the best soccer experience of her life. Better than we could have dream.

I am glad you and your child are having a good experience. That's really the point isn't it?
I have to say though -- reading through this thread it really has a "trying too hard" feel to it. I do think the Rovers are finding out, or perhaps proving the point, that a decent club team can smoke most Div. III/NAIA teams.
Have the Rovers played some of the better club teams in their own age group -- say Hawks, MFC, Rush, Vardar, Waza, Crew, Novi, Force, Kingdom? How did those games come out?
Thanks, Rovers are only in their 1st year as teams and as a club. Gee, "try too hard" do not know how to respond to that. Girls having fun and winter practices and games well attended. U14 team won their Premier Division. U15 team placed second in their Premier Division. Both teams got promoted. Both teams won a tournament in the fall. Gee, "trying too hard" lol. Girls and all involved enjoying the experience. Rovers are on the West Side of the State and try to play the best appropriate competition available. Why be silly, Rovers are a first year club with two first year teams, of course we are not ready for HAWKS or VARDAR lol. Our girls are improving and having fun. Give the Rovers a couple of years. I am sure the Rovers parents, small staff (2 volunteers), 1 coach and 2 teams of players will keep "trying too hard". Yes, all involved are very proud of the success that our small organization has had thus far.
Saw Rovers u15 girls in Kazoo in the fall beat Kingdom in a tournament final. Good soccer team. I just checked out the Rovers Website and it was very interesting. Keep up the good work...
