Correction - 4 teams from WFF made it to the Round of 16, and 2 of the 4 made it to the 1/4 finals.
U15 Boys - R16
U16 Boys - R16
U18 Boys - 1/4 finals
U13 Girls - 1/4 finals

FH Soccer had the same number of girls teams make to the Final 16 as the West Florida Flames. A club that has been in existence for 42 years has ONE team make it out the Final 16.
Let that one sink in for just a second.

Player's Club Merges with WFF

How/why did Player's Club affiliate with WFF? I thought they did this once before and then fired RS who resurrected PCTB as an independent club. Surprised that RS is willing to try it again.

There was an explanation of this posted yesterday that was deleted so this will probably get deleted too. It came down to RS shopping his DA affiliation around to the highest bidder other than TBU, since they demanded that the DA be rolled into their existing program. WFF had the most $$ to pay his salary demands so they made nice. RS still had the affiliation with US soccer but was running out of players and at risk of losing it.

NOt sure that it's a merger at this point though. The announcement by WFF said "Affiliation" so the DA may still play as PCTB at least at first until either a merger or US Soccer moves it. In exchange, RS gets players and a guaranteed high salary.

This should be addressed to your board, who within the last two months voted to remain with WFF instead of going with TBU.
I didn't understand that decision at the time & still don't, but the decision was made nonetheless.
If you have moved on, good for you; probably a good decision! The only question I have is why do you even care enough to post about it if you have in fact moved on to another club.
At this point anything that the WFF does is someone's problem, not yours.

The East Lake participants wanted to leave. But WFF and the BS commission that runs the fields in East Lake (similar to the set up in Wesley Chapel) shared one or more board members with WFF so, no surprisingly, that board voted to keep the affiliation with WFF. It was pretty much an inside job.

What would they have gotten by joining Liverpool? Access to USA league? Player sharing with FC Tarpon? Not sure of the upside there. They tried to go with TBU, but couldn't get the field rights. They were between TBU and West Pasco in the end.

typical of a small minded parent, but i will answer. Yes tarpon and gps tampa bay are smaller clubs, but they are on the rise. If you increase your numbers and added wff quality then you can apply and get access to npl etc. Also be careful knocking small clubs and league as they are the ones developing players left and right

I would think with the agreement with players club that there is no way they/he would agree if the one DA team they have and maybe more down the road would be any distance from him/players club. Where I agree Brandon still comes first, this one I would bet they have no choice, but to keep it in Brandon. Also with the threat of EL leaving at the moment those mentioned board members that share rolls on two boards leave, would you risk basing anything over there that could be ripped away. Maybe they will do a boys pre DA, like the girls at EL, down the road if they get more ages.
