U19 state cup was always for the kids that are in college to come back and play one last time. Of late it has become a way for the U18's that still wanted to do state cup - but not have as much interference with their senior year - to play. It normally was only 4-8 teams. Could do in the last two weekends of May. This year, with the age change, there were so many more teams that they had to add an extra weekend - and ask teams if they wanted a refund if they couldn't play (especially teams that were going to be made up of kids that were home after college).

They should have done U19 with the rest of the teams - and had a U20 bracket for the college returners.

By this age a couple months in age is not an advantage or disadvantage. It's size and skills and some game smarts! The 2002 girls on the FESA 2001 team graduate the same 2020 year and get more recruiting looks earlier because colleges are beginning their 2019!-2020 recruiting classes.
