Speaking of politics, your post is a perfect example of all that is bad in today's political arena - no facts and just parroting second- and third-hand information provided by one side of the issue.

Those "younger teams" you refer to were VERY successful and many "graduates" from the Thomas' program are still playing competitive soccer.

The daddy coach who drove the wedge into the heart of the Parkland Predators left shortly afterward in search of a new club who would give his child the playing time he thought she deserved. Those teams (and there have been many) were never very successful and he was never able to get her that playing time - something about individual skills and attitude...

Ian Bishop was supposed to be the "savior". How did that turn out? He used the facilities to train "his" team (even after taking them to FC Florida!), ignored the rest of the program and has now taken them to Boynton Beach.

So, now the Predators are left with a handful of young boys. They may have some great parents and kids. I won't comment on the coaches because I haven't watched them coach (I see their teams practicing on the adjacent fields).

Please be careful what you are spreading. The Thomas' were dedicated to the kids they were "assigned" to coach while with Parkland. They wanted to develop players, but those who overthrew the existing board wanted to control the talent and hand pick players to play around their child so they could win at all costs. It came to a head and the rest is history. The parents and players, faced with a choice, made their decisions.

    It's a very sad tale.

Let SAT be SAT and support your child and their club.

The best part is you summed it up for all of us. To me it seems odd the two teams SAT and Parkland practice on the same field is that what I assume on the adjacent field comment.
Do they ever or can they share players ?

I apologize. That wasn't as clear as it should have been, although you did draw the correct conclusion. My child doesn't play for either club, but plays Flag Football on the fields adjacent to the two soccer groups - that's were I see them.

The odd result exemplifies the fundamental rift, at the time: Do you want to take an academy approach (especially for younger players) or a team-centered approach?

This has been debated long and often on this message board with no clear conclusion, so I'll leave that homework to you.

The reality is that the Thomases believe in an academy approach and had consensus amongst a majority of the younger (U12 and below) players and parents. It doesn't really matter whether they left or were asked to leave - the result was that they formed SAT with that philosophy. There were issues with having two clubs in the same zip code with the governing bodies, so they didn't compete in many of the leagues and tournaments that the Predators were already registered. Their focus was on individual skills and player positioning and movement on the field. Competition was a component of that. Yes, for a lot of reasons, a majority of their teams have been U12 and below. They have enjoyed success and the players are very technically sound.

The Predators took a team-centered approach with the remaining players. There was little sharing of coaching and training resources between teams (by choice). There have been some VERY successful teams. Unfortunately, the feeder into the system left with SAT. Recently, they have a new DOC and have started up some new teams in the younger boys age groups.

As with many clubs in South Florida, the "area" really can't support two clubs. So, we are left with a club and an academy that are under-utilized (IMHO) and a bit pricey.

Is this where I'm supposed to start bashing one of these organizations???

Very well put that is strange struggle however I think for younger development SAT is better choice that is what I am faced with. This is at least the way understand this whole soccer crap lol I have a kid who loves it and I hate it lol. That is the way it goes kids are first parents last lol.

It's like 3 games into the season relax. After 3 games you wanna pass judgment.

Alex I. is a older guy who did personal training and coached teams there in the past. Is he still around and coaching or training?
