Exactly! I agree. A club should have as much loyalty to the player as the player to the club. A second team does not mean its "bad" or your kid "isn't good". It just means there may other kids that are better and that is OK! That happens in life as a grownup.

They can do the majority of that at REC. But some kids hold out a chance but someone should sit down and talk with them revaluate their goals.

In rec soccer there are no thrills of tournaments, no thrill of traveling to games - it is so much more - its the experience. If the kid is OK with playing on a 3rd or 4th team regardless of the age group then so should the parent. Have you thought they just love the game?! Im just curious what are the parents hoping to get out of your kid being on the 1st and 2nd team? Are you looking for your kid to be the next MB out of Jacksonville? That would be like you winning the lottery.

No of course not but Coaches should set realstic expections to their goals. There is a girl on a U14 team at JFC that her and her parents really think she will go to college playing soccer, not on team that she is on.
