if go with no sports you have a kid that wont get into college b/c he's spending all day playing minecraft.
There are a million other extra curriculars, volunteering, leadership roles that are equal to or better than playing sports. Also top grades and test scores will open more doors than sports ever will

As the parent of one college kid and another leaving soon enough the thread op is correct. I look back at my former self and cringe at the things I used to stress about. It's been a great ride but I wish I'd taken it less seriously earlier on with #1. #2 has been much easier and #3 even easier yet. It flies by so unbelievably fast it makes you breathless. #1 rule is it's their path, not yours - not just sports but all else as well. It's tempting to pick them up but they have to learn life has stumbles along the way. Eventually they figure it out, even if there's times you want to strangle them! :)

Vision and brains too. There are so many aspects to the game, not to mention mentality and confidence which are essential. Coaching is huge. Most coaches don't have a clue. It's a complicated sport. Good luck. Ps - my kid is playing in Europe.
Why is size important? Messi, Sanchez, Modric, Xavi, Marcelo, Iniesta, Hazard, Pirlo... maybe if you are a keeper or center back. The rest is important, but the fascination with size and early bloomers hurts U.S. Soccers

Through an affiliation they will offer Player's Club's DA. Not sure what the terms are though. I suspect that since WFF was going to pay RS salary (for the DA at least), he must have agreed to approach US Soccer about approving a transfer of the DA either through the affiliation or a merger, but that is complete TS speculation at this point as I only know what RS was requesting from TBU.

There should be no DA players attending Danone, unless they are DP's. What teams are you talking about?

kendall 2005 and a team called isl da 2005 from North Carolina. When I google it just now something about Queen City comes up but I don't know. Their web site claims they are Da.

This team must have asked for an exemption and received it. Kendall is pre academy 2005 which I do t understand because Weston is academy at the same age group. I don't understand that...

The USSF Player Development Initiatives state: "Players should participate in no more than 30 games per calendar year and in no more than one game per day. These initiatives are recommended for soccer clubs, but mandatory for the Development Academy. How are they allowed to participate in a tournament where they will have to play two games a day for probably three consecutive days? Perhaps these initiatives are just like this forum: talking-soccer.

I wonder how much commitment and work is required to be a Development Academy director?

RS shopped his U12 DA around to just about every club in town looking for 2 things, players for the DA since his prized players left en masse to Clearwater's DA instead of theirs, and a guaranteed salary. WFF doesn't have much in terms of quality players in the U11/U12 age group, but they think with the DA carrot they can build that up in a year or two if the terrible results don't result in a loss of the DA. But what they did have was enough $$ to make the prior bad blood disappear as they could guarantee a salary as high as TBU was offering without requiring him to fold his team into an existing program. So... the deal was done and announce this weekend. Given their location to TBU and IMG, I'm skeptical they will build it into anything good. With what they had, they'd be a second division non-DA team in the area so they are basically building from nothing after the best players have already gone to TBU or CC. And WFF adds another high paid person who is looking to make $$, so from that perspective, it seems like a good fit to me.
Don't you get sick of hearing yourself talk? You know nothing of what you speak. First off you lost credibility the minute you mispoke about easlake split which never happened. Just stop pretending you know something and go about your way. The Flames keep winning you keep fabricating stories.
