They only have DA for 06,05 & 04 and those tryouts were a few weeks ago. This is for academy placement.

So WFF will have all age groups for Girls DA, one age group for Boys DA and very, very few other teams on boys and girls sides. That doesn't seem like a sustainable business model?

Add to that a shrinking rec program due to demographics & you have a perfect storm of sorts coming within the next two years.
Only four GDA teams on the girls side, struggling to fill second teams (by combining age groups to get those second teams in place) & you can see that the loss of revenue from a substantial player exodus has a negative effect on the bottom line.
As it was stated in the introductory DA meeting, West Florida Flames really, really needs a club sponsor or two for the 2018-2019 season or you do not want to see the cost of the DA program per player.

ACYS is actually falling apart. It's only a matter of time when they become basically a rec club. Same thing with FC America. In a few years the only real big competitive clubs in Orlando will be OCYS, FKK & Rush.

What about the girls program, daughter thinking of trying out? Seems they signed up for tournaments but didn't go. Is it due to injury?

I can't believe that someone hasn't bashed this post yet. You see these all the time. Someone tells the truth about something and everyone wants to put them down. Maybe this site is turning the corner or soccer dad doesn't read this anymore.

WFF 03 Pinellas girls have formed a team. If there are any strong players in the Pinellas area who are being talked into playing "USA D1" (or "Up" an age group in USA) please do yourself a favor and contact the WFF Club / Girls DOC. Still a few spots that could potentially be filled even with tryouts being over.

After this year, if you are still stuck in USA either playing USA D1 or a higher age group you will never be able to make the leap to the stronger leagues or competition. Come find a whole new level of soccer you might never experience.
