Congrats ACYS. Davie Divas were outplayed from the first to the final whistle. ACYS will represent what soccer truly is in Florida, not like the kickball flopping crybabies of Davie.
Agreed. Many clubs are run solely by volunteers and running an event would require all hands on deck. Even ones with pro coaches and management may still need parent help for events like that. Not a big deal at all. OP doesn't have to volunteer if he doesn't want.
The better the Soccer PTO the more manpower and profits for management.
Agree on everything but you also need to show results at U15 and above.
If no results on U15-U18 teams, your club development is lacking. You can talk all you will about development but if it never leads to any results, what are you really offering?
Clubs don't develop. They simply look to add other players that might be better than some of the ones they failed over the years. DOC is never around. You are being conned by people with funny accents. But you know this and willingly hand over the money.
Try Lacrosse and forget about the men with funny accents. Another great thing about lacrosse is all the parents at the older ages are not under some false idea their kid is getting a full ride to college for kicking a ball around. These folks are crazy and ruin the game for the others. Cheers
Or it enables them offer training at a lower cost to their customers
More profits from tournaments can only help clubs. I do think these big clubs should place a paid professional in charge of a tournament. It is a full time job to do it right and to raise the most funds.
1. Club - communicates well, They are truthful with the parents about who will coach, costs, as well as leagues and expectations.
2. Coaching - A coach who runs solid training sessions, and shows consistent growth in his player's individual performance, as well as team performance.
3. Players - Players actually enjoy playing with each other, push each other to get better.
It is not hard to build a solid foundation for retaining players and even having players want to play at your club...some clubs will lose players because a player will get a legitimate better opportunity in another club (higher league play, more exposure), but for 90% of the players, that will have little impact.
Be honest, hire the best coaches you can, and focus on training.
