LR and PB Going to Scorpions??

Pumas beat Portsmouth at their house 5-0.. Did you hear anyone bragging??!?! This must be the same ******* parent that don’t want to admit that RC recruits players from Bayside to play for his town. As he too has players from Scorpions and Bayside playing for his team. But let’s make it all about the Pumas.

Not the OP but this is a little silly. The Bayside and Scorpions players on RC's current team are actually from Portsmouth and started all the way back in the town's rec soccer program.

Yes, Pumas beat Portsmouth at their house 5-0. In the rematch, the Portsmouth girls played as hard as they've ever played because they didn't want to lose like that again. RC's team has been depleted this year by injury and players moving on to focus on club soccer or other sports, so it was a great victory for morale as much as anything.

Both teams put on a good game. Please, people, don't ruin it with the trash talk.

Anyone heard about this? We’re told that LR is bringing his girls 2010 team and PB and him are bringing their older team over to Scorpions. Want to get our 10 year old on LR’s team but not if they keep moving around.

LR ONLY does what's best for LR!! Everyone in RI knows this. By the time he retires-or gets kicked out of club soccer for cheating- he will have screwed over hundreds of players and parents. If you ever shake this guy's hand he will be looking at you plotting his next move. Run to the hills when dealing with this d*uchebag!

Don't worry the way the Pumas run their program will be over next year. Entering teams where maybe one player is from Providence is not going to fly anymore. It has gone too far and everyone is sick of it except the jerky Puma parents. If LR wants to make his living at soccer, he will have to admit that Pumas is a premier club and compete with Surf instead of just using Surf players to make a few extra bucks. The ugliest part of this is how they have the kids/parents ask other kids/parents to join Pumas.

Out of curiosity, what is the benefit to you (and RI youth soccer generally) if Pumas are made to change their game?

I actual reasons beyond "We finally don't have to hear them the sideline" (which tbh I totally get).

How is this different than what Cumberland ,Lincoln , Pawtucket, Providence United and Portsmouth have done one the boys side.

Baysidefc, Bruno , Liverpool, GPS teams disguised as Town teams.

You didn't hear boys parents crying about how unfair it was for these teams to play up and still beat up teams.

He’s doing a good job over there. Some players will move on to Scorpions, others to NEFC.
Player movement happens but the coach is staying.

If a club doesn’t play a player 50% of the game then it’s the club schedule that is the loser. Don’t take any kids under 14 on your team if you can’t play them atleast 50% or they don’t develop or gain confidence! Surf should know better.

Sometimes this happens. Players fall behind or don't earn their minutes through hard work. That is what the B teams are supposed to be for. Problem is most parents program their kids to never take playing opportunities at the lower level as development.
