He is getting them ready to peak at the right time...the playoffs! Watch out!

The team I wouldn't want to see drive up to my field in the 1st round is NK. Super inconsistent but if the girls show up (and maybe the coach doesn't) they could easily take down a higher seed

You make it seem that education is more important than soccer.

The only thing holding NK back is the coaching... (which has been the case for years by the way). There is no reason for this team NOT to challenge LSA year after year given the talent that rolls through the program. But it is the coaching that holds this team back. Poor roster makeup.... playing girls out of position... no real style of play... etc. The girls don't know what to expect game to game or practice to practice. Include the fact that the coach has no character at all (I have never heard a positive comment about this guy). I would argue the team has a winning record in spite of the clown they hired. Imagine what this team would do if the coach had even the smallest clue (then again this can be said for almost any team).

Super inconsistent is the perfect description for this team. They could run the table or get bumped out in the first round by a lower seed. Either one wouldn't be a surprise.

D1 Playoffs - Semi Finals tough to predict, home field advantage looms large.

Not sure how RIIL is sorting out 16- vs 17-game season for final rankings. Would be so much better to have top six playoffs instead of top 10.

                Guess for Semi Finals?

                Cumberland 3 v Portsmouth 2
                LaSalle 2 v Mt. Hope 3

                Guess for Finals?

Cumberland 3 v Mt. Hope 2 on PKs

Great predictions but I don't buy Portsmouth in the Semis. I'd also like to know how they are going to figure 16 vs 17 game season for seeding.

LOL. When you realize Div 1 soccer doesn't come to a screeching halt and collapse on itself when your daughter goes to play for another school. It's like the Indian in the pollution commercials with 1 lonely tear streaming down his face...

                      Scores too high - Goals Against LaSalle #1 @11, Portsmouth #2 @14, Smithfield #3 @16, Cumberland #4 @17, Mt. Hope #5 @18 -- Recall Defense wins Championships.

Same match ups, but reverse semi-final/final results, with 2-1 scores...or maybe LaSalle can avoid Portsmouth if Cumberland can score early and often at home.

                        Talk about a meaningless tweet....

Division 1 Champions!!! Skippers defeat EG 3-0 to win their 1st division title since 1995. Great team accomplishment.

This implies an accomplishment far greater than what was actually achieved. They won the Division 1 South - barely. In 1995 there was only one division... so being a division champion meant something.

Wouldn't they simply use "average points" - take total and divide by 17 for North/South and 16 for East..that gives Hope the 3 seed no matter what Smithfield does tonight..also why Portsmouth is 5 seed over North Kingstown despite same point total and tie in regular season. RIIL rules says seeded by percentage, would give the same result.

It's definitely biased toward the 17 game schedule - not sure why RIIL doesn't just go to the same format as the boys and mandate one D2 team move up or just live with 13 games and let the teams schedule some non-league rivalry or other games that happen now (ie. CW vs CE; Portsmouth with Newtown CT or SK with that OH team).

I doubt Portsmouth gets by Smithfield at Smithfield. NK at Hope is best bet for upset given playing on grass and Hope is the most single dimension of the top seeds.

Semis on new turf field is a bonus for Cumberland; I'd say LSA given they play on turf, but the speed favors Cumberland. I don't think there's a clear favorite but maybe Cumberland has a slight edge.

Why is LSA the 1 seed though? I think that's actually an edge for Smithfield as they match up best in midfield..could be Cumberland - Smithfield final.

D2 - winner should be automatically moved up to D1..

Your an idiot, yellow cards were for dissension as a result of the red card and PK awarded. Players were clearly shaken and upset with the officials call. Before you rush to judgment, learn the game, the rules, and actually watch the game live. That was a good game, West had their chances to out the game away but didn't finish. Congrats to Cumberland. Fouls on both sides.

The way things have been going this season, I'm expecting an upset or 2. Maybe a lower seeded team making it to the semis.

Can't guess why LSA gets #1 seed, Cumberland gets #2.

Can guess Cumberland wins title over winner of Smithfield/Portsmouth game.
