My kids has moved to colleges and no longer play. It is good for Rhode Island that there are couple clubs that can compete. I agree with everything you've said and my post, while not posted in hatred but in amusement, was directed squarely at the Bayside sycophants who simply continue to whistle past the graveyard and continue to blow their horn, while dismissing the changing landscape of premier soccer in RI. I too agree that its nice for RI to have a couple of competitive premier clubs to choose from and compete with each other, and I hope it stays at about 3-4 max (otherwise it will get too diluted). But mark my words ... come back in 3 years and I guarantee Bayside will not be sweeping every state cup on the girls side. It was said here before. The current crop of Baysiders who make up the juniors and seniors at Lasalle this fall do not have a good track record in State Cup with Bayside. The Juniors who played on the U16 team this year never won State Cup until this year. They lost to Lusitana & Portsmouth the two previous years. The girls on the Bayside U17 team won it only once prior to this year. Couple of years back they lost to South County. The point is this, last years group of Lasalle seniors were monsters. Many of them played on U18 Bayside club that won State Cup like six years in a row. You had a couple of players playing ECNL with other clubs. You had blue chip D1 college players at Lasalle last fall, IMHO I just don't think that is the case this year. Lasalle will win plenty of games but they are not a lock to win anything. Finally, please tell us who is you keeper, because the rumor mill is swirling that coaches are begging girls to play between the posts.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment

Your points about the Lasalle roster are very true. But take a look at the rosters Lasalle plays against. Is there a team that's better? Last years team had 10 seniors: 2 were with Breakers, 1 the goalie was from Stars, there was the starting outside mid and another def center mid both not from Bayside, and 3 seniors (including a backup goalie) who did not play until 10 minutes at senior night and all not from Bayside. That leaves 2 players and both were from Bayside. However 1 was out all year with an ACL. So last years seniors had 1 player from Bayside U18.
You might question the State Cup record of last years U17 and 16 but the U15 and U14 which are the sophomores and freshman have won 4 out of 5 and all 5 state cups.
As well as the above, perhaps their best player is a senior from Stars ECNL. NEFC is represented with a few players as well. Oh and the team has four goalies at tryouts. No one can replace AF from last 4 years but I'll take the loaded, talented and 25 deep field players including those U17 and 16s a few of which are committed to play D1.Comment

I always laugh at the Mt Hope girl/parent who always had to pop in whenever another team is being discussed and desperately point out how good MT Hope will be. We get it. You think you are awesome.
