Lasalle will easily win the State Championship this year. If they didn't play a keeper, they would still win most games. Teams don't even get shots off against them most of the time as their defense has been great.

Mt. Hope, Cumberland, and Smithfield will be other final four teams.

I think EWG, EG and SK are stronger than at least 2 maybe 3 of your selections. May I guess that you don't travel into South County much??

So how is it that the Lasalle Keeper is the best in the state when she obviously never got any shots on goal? I am always baffled by the best keepers argument. Keepers who are great in training are not necessarily the best in games or the best overall.

Few thoughts here from the North Division. Lasalle is primarily composed of players from Bayside U16 & Bayside U17 fair to say? The funny thing is those are the two Bayside teams that seem to have trouble in big games. The U16's had a good spring, but up until this year still had never won a State Cup. The U17's were horrible this year. Scored two goals in NPL. All those U17 attackers play for Lasalle. Maybe it's injuries but they don't seem to have accomplished much. Last year LSA had four or five go onto D1, none of these girls seem close to D1, closer to D3. I also think things have to change when you lose the best keeper in the State for the last four years. I don't see the two nightmare center backs, who is replacing them. I have no doubt they will win a bunch of games, but this crew seems a bit soft. Cumberland does look strong, but that coach has not developed a single bench player. Last year he didn't sub. Period. No subs. Granted they didn't lose many but there is an old coaches notion that the team with the best Juniors, not Seniors is the one you have to watch out for. There are a lot of 17 year old girls at the end of the road for soccer, we'll see what they still have in the tank. The keeper is weak. I saw Smithfield play last year and the record was good, but I'm not sure how they won. They were easily the slowest team up top in the division. Nothing stood out about them. Doesn't mean they are bad, but I literally don't remember seeing any player who made you stop to look. I have no idea if Cranston or Lincoln have anything coming up this year but I suspect both are pining for the days of D2, neither will be a factor.

LaSalle will be in the mix simply because they have 60+ quality girls to pick their 18-20 from, whereas everyone else hopes to have 8-10 quality players! Mt Hope, Portsmouth and SK have performed well at Middle School level the past few years so decent players have been moving up to HS, so they'll be in the mix although losing MKM will hurt Portsmouth, but they were more than just her. NK JV has been among best in state past 2 years, but too many kids returning to the varsity from last years disaster and still with same coach so they'll tank again. Someone mentioned EG but they graduated best players and players coming up aren't same quality so they'll be middle of pack.

Its probably a condition of her scholarship that she be accepted. But its really none of our business where anyone chooses to go to school.
