Is that fair? how many are there and who are there?

Not one of them..but was told by a HS coach that is it less than 10 and why he pays to be a NSCAA member so he has a vote..I know the previous poster said said no backroom deals and in my opinion, the recent lists seem to produce the deserving players (in fairness, I see mainly D1 and only limited D2 so can't say if D2/D3 players are short changed)..and the all-american/poy have been straight forward..will be more interesting this year whether reputation/previous recognition carries despite underperformance or injury..and in a down scoring year if defenders will get more recognition..

I was quite surprised how inconsistent ref's were with basic game calling. In particular, "hand balls" and "pushing". Saw quite a few games where refs didn't call them at all.

What is with only 2 refs per game? At the highschool level, there should be 3 minimum. There games where the 2 refs could not keep up with the speed of the game. They struggled moving up and down the field.

I'm surprise none of the referees they have not drop at the fields yet. I watched a better reffed games at the middle school games. Sad to see these old goose trying to keep up with the high school game. This old fart fraternity need to stop. The young refs need to ref the high school games if RIIL insists on a two men crew.

Please, the minute I heard that the Bristol bomber was the kid on the turf, you know everything you need to you know about who deserved the card. What a shame what that player has turned into, fitting she's running lost all over the field and figures the only way to contribute is to flop a penalty.

I for one have see her play multiple times recently. This "Bristol Bomber" is known to be one of the best players in this state. I know she is a very good goal scorer so in the second overtime of the championship game I would think she would be smart enough to try to score a goal like everyone knows she can instead of "flopping" her way to victory. She had matured from her younger days

Guys and gals its a 95 dollars a year for a membership. If your coach doesn't have a membership then he doesn't deserve a vote. The truth is at the beginning of each year the association begs coaches to join because the more members we have the more all region and all american players you can get. Right now we barely get one All American and have to bet out New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine for that matter. Pass the hat and make a collection if you really want your kid nominated.

She scored 7 goals on an undefeated team where she had to play no defense and played half her games on turf.

If you actually watched lasalle play you would see that all they focus on is defense and this lasalle player isn't even playing her actual position. 7 goals from a new position to her? That is impressive. She also lead the team in goals. I think we can all agree she's one of the top in this state

Lasalle did not get the all American nod. Defenders got more attention this year, but only by a bit. Earlier poster was correct. RI only gets one all American player since so few of our coaches are in the NSCAA. More would allow us to get another player named to the list.

The all state teams reflect the defensive strength shown by so many teams this year. The coaches did a thorough job making sure that all deserving players had a chance to be recognized.

Lasalle did not get the all American nod. Defenders got more attention this year, but only by a bit. Earlier poster was correct. RI only gets one all American player since so few of our coaches are in the NSCAA. More would allow us to get another player named to the list.

The sad thing is she is not even the best player in RI. Based on pure talent I give the nod to the Classical player. Know she is not a D1 player but if she play D1 there are no arguments. I also think not playing on an ECNL Club hurt her chances.

How do you know who the AA is? WHoever got it if is on ECNL then is the player from Smithfield going to UVM?? I thought LSA and smitfheild did not get the votes. No matter what, D2 will never get the awards of NSCAA region or all American. Just how it is. Just like the Paw Sox will never have Cy Young award winner. If Classical is that good, go to D1 and prove it is the way to do it Yes she is a great player, fantastic actually, but she does not play in ECNL I think?

You could say everyone knew LSA would win D1, but realy they almost lost the semi finals and barely survived against EG in the finals. D2 was an excellent competition, and D3 saw some great surprises as well. Overall this was the most exciting HS soccer season that I can remember over the last 5-6 years. Hope for more of the same next year.

I would agree LSA was not a lock, but the top 4 positions in both D1/D2 were pretty much a lock..and next year, you can book LSA and Bayview..I agree the games were more exciting because the rise of defense over offense meant (in theory) that weaker teams could take advantage of one mistake and possibly a more dominant offensive player could make a difference in a single game.. but teams like EWG and Smithfield show that better offenses still don't win out in the end against teams with strong defense and just average offense..

Next year could be more open simply because the teams with stronger JV teams and that were on the younger side for varsity are also the ones with horrible coaches..
