With 2 seniors from Bayside U17 returning, defensive line will be tops in league but GK will be a big issue.

It is of course a valid point of EWG success in D1; however, the counter is EWG has probably the POY (unless LSA goes unscored on and maybe the LSA GK gets a nod.. VC from Smithfield maybe as well) as well as a strong SR class..I think they will come back to the bottom tier next year.
Saying Lincoln would beat any of the top 4 D1 seeds is a stretch; I think Lincoln could be competitive against the bottom half, but only way to know is for the school to petition to move up..I'm sure CW would appreciate a breather in D2 or I think EWG is going to face the reality of being a small school trying to play D1 next year.
Also, having watch the Lincoln JV championship and then the NK-Portsmouth D1 JV championship, it was night and day the speed and level of play between those 2 matches..not a knock on Lincoln as you play who you play, just the gap in JV is the same as varsity.. I think Lincoln will have a nice run like EWG did if they stay in D2..I hope they petition for D1 though so these discussions get settled on the field..

Vets would be near the bottom of D1 against this year.

Sorry but that is the truth, look at Vets. EWG is an anomaly this year as I'm not aware of any upcoming D1 recruits playing at Lincoln anytime soon?

If they were to make a jump it would seem that next year would be the year.
