Barrington - Mt. Hope game today has implications for the final seeds..see if Cumberland can muck it up with EWG.. LSA wins 1 to 0 over Portsmouth in another ho-hum kind of game that LSA seems to play this year with unyielding defense but little creativity on offense..
game of the week is Sat with LSA and Bayview..

If NK all stater is not back, then I suspect NK gets shutout twice this week by LSA and EG.
and let's see how EWG is next year without its star player..
With the exception of watching some of the Smithfield games and only EWG once, it seems goal scoring / finishing is at a premium this year..maybe the most recent years have been exceptions and this is more the norm..but among the top teams, defense seems to dominate..if not for set plays, corners, or GK miscues, little actual scoring off creative offensive plays.
Perhaps some of these teams are young, but some teams just seem to underperform for the talent in the community..ultimately that is on the coaching..

Calling the seeds at this point is tough and pointless but as I look into the crystal ball and predict who's out of the dance this year, I see: Cranston West, Toll Gate and SK, yes SK.
They are at 11 points with no winnable games coming up other than Mt. Hope to close out the season and that's not a good matchup for them.
Prout and Barrington are tied for 12th spot at 7 points today, Barrington should finish at 13 points given their schedule. Prout needs to beat Cumberland and get a tie or win with either LaSalle or Portsmouth. Their play of late seems to indicate a tie with Portsmouth is not far fetched.
Somewhere JK is trembling!

Prout has been their own worst enemy this year and their record is deceiving. They should have easily tied NK and Mt. Hope and won SK and Toll Gate.
All 4 game were lost on goals in the final minute. Prout really should be sitting behind NK at 6/7. If they figure a way to get in they could throw off some higher seeds.
