As far as I know, the only committed Bayside players are from Classical and Burrilville. LaSalle has the next biggest group of Bayside talent is LaSalle followed by EG and Bay View. Then you count on Smithfield.

Theres no comparsion between the Bayside talent that plays at Smithfield and then at EG. Smithfield has the top players that have helped Bayside get to regionals EVERY year and EG has the players that play back up. Bay View has some other better players and Lasalle has some premier players that would not know what a Region 1 soccer field looks like since they never got there

Facts: EG girls have been to the regional 3 consecutive years and made it to the Region 1 Semi-final twice. Smithfield girls have been to the regional 4-5 years and made the semi-final once. In all, they all have been successful at regional. Can't say that for girls playing in other clubs.

NK player who went D1 played ECNL with MASS club..last year with her and another all-stater and those TW girls, NK gets bounced in first round by a better coached Bayview team who had less talent but actually played tactically sound...same probably this year when the better clubs defend the 1 or 2 players and say beat us with your other players who only serve to get the ball to the best player..

HS coaches inherit talent, they can't do much in terms of improving technical skills in 2 weeks of pre-season..they can take what they have, assemble the pieces to put the best kids in positions that best use the skills those players have and teach some basic tactics that take advantage of opportunities (ie. free kicks, corner kicks, etc.). They also make adjustments in-game at half...they don't stick with the same plan that isn't working just because they favor a few players..

Look at Prout..offense wasn't that great last year with a very good senior and the plan this year seems to be to do the same with the other returning players who maybe premier players, but aren't that great at actually finishing..

Smithfield also has the fewest players going on to D1 college programs. Just one. NK has THREE, EWG one, Prout one, CLassical one, Burrillville one, but Smithfield has the least.

You list six schools and five of them have ONE D1 college player. Techncially you are right that Smithfield has the least, but technically they are also tied for second most on your list...

Was told by an EG parent that they may have as many as 3 D1 commits by early spring. There is one well known commit already (mostly well known to people who know RI soccer) and 2 more potentials. So take that for what it's worth.

What an idiot, none of the kids on Smithfield play for the Bayside team that has reached regional semi finals the last two years - none, zip, nada.

Three play for EG, two for Prout - the rest are scattered throughout D2 and D3.

Oh, that makes complete sense now. So the Bayside players from EG that are part of the most successful girls premier soccer team Rhode Island has produced are the "B" players and the Bayside "A" players are on Smithfield?
