2013 Girls HS Soccer

Probably a bit harsh, but NK has played 3 teams that have only scored a total of 2 goals--so it is safe to say that NK is as yet untested. The real deal so far--Portsmouth. Obviously Smithfield will get a few wins in the next week or two, but here are the unknowns so far:

Cranston West--only give up 2 against LSA?

Coventry--2 strong performances

EG--also the real deal, but only 1-0 against EWG

EWG--spoiler or possible contender? too hard to say just yet, but at 2-1, certainly a factor

LSA--the big question. CAn they return to former glory?

This week is Coventry's to show if they are a contender or pretender. EG could be 7-0 by month's end if they get by Smithfield; Prout could be 0-7 and the biggest disappointment given the level of "premier" players on that team. Smithfield needs to step up against EG or could be sitting at 3-6 including a NL loss to B-ville.

Why is RIIL including injury fund games in its standings?

for a RI HS team, 4 premier players is a lot. Not sure what happened to Prout. I would have thought they would put up a good showing, but we'll see what they can do against EWG. Maybe a win today will get them back on track.

2 from TW (last year) and 3 from Bayside..and the Bayside/TW players are in the key positions.....a few from the RAMS (okay, but the RAMS had 1 good team)..a couple from the good South county team and a couple from Ocean State who at least played in MAPLE.. . should be a lot better than 0 GF and a lot better than giving up 5 to Smithfield..

Hope Prout and South County also know RIIL frowns on coaches who coach their players on youth teams during the school year after the soccer season ends..

LaSalle is probably 8 or 9 high end premier/ECNL. Smithfield has Baysides best players, while the rest of Bayside b team players are scattered around EG and some at Bayview. TW players mostly NK and Prout.

Of course TW is premier . look how the NK players that play on TW beat up on the bottom 4 teams in the division. NK is 4-0 since they havent played any team that has practically even been able to find the half line on the field by week 3.

Smithfield has also only beaten the teams at the bottom of the division, and been spank by the better teams. Must be those strong Bayside A team players.

NK has put one at Div 1 college last year and it looks like they will put 2 more this year at Div 1 soccer colleges. They must be doing something right in NK ??

Sorry bud. Has nothing to do with NK but the fact that these girls play club. If D1 was base on high school soccer, none of these girls will never be on D1 schools radar. So don't pad your back too much.

As predicted before season, Prout has really been impacted by loss of talented forward and injuries.

Sounds like they should have tied NK and played well enough to beat TG but was unlucky.

Now they need to win their next 4 or they're done - Bay view, SK, Barrington, CW. Tough road ahead for them.

As far as I know, the only committed Bayside players are from Classical and Burrilville. LaSalle has the next biggest group of Bayside talent is LaSalle followed by EG and Bay View. Then you count on Smithfield.
