Smithfield actually has only 1 actual verbal committment. There is a differrence between agreeing to go to a school and getting to play on the womens soccere team, and the coach of a womens soccer team actually recruiting a player with a financial incentive. With the latter in mind, there are really only 2 D1 verbal committments so far from the class of 2014 (although LSA also has one, but the player is from MA)

with money being offered by URI? They finished their 2014 recruiting months ago, just like every other D1 program. It's 2015s getting offers now.

aren't all of the 2014 players technically "uanannounced?" Unless you are talking about the google NCAA commitment spreadsheet, which is about as close to an announcement as you can get prior to signing in Februrary, then I have not seen any announcements for 2014s anywhere.

heres why I think LSA will win--they are returning a top player to midfeild. and have a lineup across the board of solid players. Smithfield although they won D1 last year, never dominiated any teams in the games I watched, and their one player that is now D1 at UVM and getting a lot of playing time with that team is not going to be there to bail Smithfield out this year. The starting lineup at Smithfield this year will be on par with every other D1 lineup, nothing spectacular, and not equipped to hold off LSA or other strong D1 offenses this year. Smithfiled finishes the season 7-7
