Can we actually admit their is no correlation between this weekend's Regional play and High School soccer?
Many of the supposed BEST players in high school either weren't playing this weekend or if they were, probably had very little impact/standout power.
There are kids on the All State teams that will never receive any interest from a coach beyond HS and they made the list because they are good athletes, not great soccer players. Which is fine and an accomplishment but not comparable to being to manage the box, or maintain possession, quick decision-making, etc.
Fancy footwork looks great in D3 and D2 HS and will score a lot of goals but frankly is of no value at a high level unless you can do it with speed and have the size and toughness not to get steamrolled or doubled when you play a quality team.

Can tell you that the U16G players getting a lot of looks this weekend and making themselves known to college coaches weren't the ones on the projo's All State list.

The best of D2 could not win any games in D1, now EWG (with a top player) is in D1 and Vets D2 how is this year we are going to see the quote "it will be good to see the matchups finally having some good games and a great chance to watch the players." I did not realize Vets had so many good players.

Oh vey people are already stupid in this thread. Really all the talent is in D2?
I wouldn't expect too much in terms of college success/signings in the next couple years. The best source of talent is Bayside U16 and 1 or 2 might get some D1 interest from that team - the rest are likely D2 or D3.
Very different talent today in RI than the past couple years - more team based than individual

Exactly, the most likely D1 candidates on Bayside U16 are not the offensive players (too small, slow) its the defenders and keeper.
they probably won't be on projio "all state" list anytime soon but they'll be on college coach radar.
There are great high school players (speed, footskills, etc) and there are great potential college players (size, toughness, book and soccer smarts, etc), if you are one, it doesn't mean you are the other.
There's a reason why college coaches don't go watch high school soccer games even the state fianls.
