Portsmouth still doesn't have a coach. With the track record there, god knows who they will end up with.

Portsmouth has a good youth soccer program. No reason why the coach coming in won’t also be good. I’m sure they have good candidates that will make big improvements in a town with a lot of talent. Just need a good coach that’s dialed in. The last one was a set back.

Surf Coach going to coach SK ? Too bad. The club coaches in RI like to play favorites and poach. They aren’t about improving their players or building a solid team. Surf is known for kick ball like Bayside and Liverpool. Typical RI club coaches. Be better off looking at SK youth soccer coaches over ever hiring a club coach or director.

Lots of turnover this year. Players and parents a different crowd next fall.

Looking forward to High school soccer? This is why women's/girls youth soccer is broken. It's great to see that the boys have finally have the right leagues to get away from the environment of unqualified coaches. Why dont girls soccer have that opportunity? The RIIL have 0 care for their student athletes with their over working schedule. Year after year the percentage of female players injuries occurring because of high school sports over working their students are increasing.

Club players (the high level ones) are risking their opportunities to play college ball by playing in high school. Poor coaching, poor refs. Lots of injured players. Lindsay Horan didn’t play for her high school for this reason.

99.9% of players end up playing this sport for the sole reason it’s fun. Playing for your high school is fun. Julie Horan when she got to high school was well informed she was Julie Horan. You’re going to feel really dumb when your daughter skips high school so she can sit on the bench at URI. Cause she is not Julie Horan.

It’s Lindsey Horan. Are you confused with Julie Ertz? Why feel dumb about skipping high school? You do what you want with your kid. But putting them in a situation to get their body destroyed by coaches not aware of proper training, rest and recovery, as well as with refs that don’t stop dirty play of poor sportsmanship players is silly to me. If your school doesn’t have an educated Athletic trainer working daily w your daughters team the chances of injury greatly increase.

Are we seeing the same issues in the private high schools as the public? Are the increased injuries in high schools due to lack of proper training/rest, and lack of eduction from teachers who decided to coach? Or is it that you have an environment with club players mixed in with townies and the townies lack ability causing reckless play when they can’t keep up? It’s all to be considered if your kid is a serious athlete.

I think that if bigger clubs and leagues like ECNL offered fall programming, a lot of players would jump at it.

It’s been tried. The ability to play HS soccer was held up as a big attraction of ECNL over Girls DA.
