I agreed. Bayside just got whipped today. Lost 0-9 against lowly MPS. Some job JMA must have done. I would bet this next year's State Cup Bayside will get destroy again.

I did not see the game but a friend of mine has a son on that team and he said the back line is horrible.

Yes, their back line is terrible. One of the center-back is soooo slow, not even sure why the coach would even play him. Wait!!!! this is premier, cash is king. Can't wait to see the twins have a field day this coming weekend.

Bruno boys and Bayside FC boys are a shadow of the girls. The top boys are mostly heading north to the Mass teams.

My daughter was on field 3 so I did catch a little of the Boys U13 game as well...and frankly both teams suck IMO. I never saw the ball go backwards to the defenders and swing to the other side. What I did see was the ball go back swung to another player and he then pounded down the ball down the field. This happened every time for both teams...

Well you must be the expert on the two teams after catching one rotation for a few minutes at one game.

Just an observation for the 20 minutes I watched...I do know it is a small sample size but it was so glaring to watch the ball go back and just get pounded down the field with no thought of keeping it on the ground and keep possession.

Don't think it was typical of either teams style. Last June, Bayside won the NEP premiership and Bruno was third place at regionals beating two other states. Obviously, two teams that suck.

My Daughters game is/was what it was...girls soccer. You have a few kids that are good but the other ones are a complete waste of space who pay the fee to play.

So is it a bad thing for me to want to watch another game and expect more out of it. I am just stating that the defenders on both those teams were not good. The Bruno #7 was actually the better of the 8 defenders. It is simple these boys were U13 boys and at that level you need to know how to handle the ball in the back and it was very clear that they could not.

I totally agreed with your observation. I blame the coaches for not teaching these players how to improve their first touch. They first touch is horrible. My son is on one of these team. However, it is a common problem throughout US Youth Soccer. Wish I can find a better alternative but I have not come across a club/team that teaches good techniques.

Blame the coaches. Parents pay tones of $$$ and this is what they have to show for. Players with poor techniques. I once told by a coach that it is not his job to teach individual player on his/her deficiencies. If they want skill development they need private session with him. I believe the player's contract states the player development is included and player evaluation will be provided. I been with the club for 2 years and I have not seen or received neither.
