Bayside has invested in their programs and coaching and they are starting to have the results on a state level - I'm sure they will continue to grow at the rate they feel they can support and not be in a place where they have to take on any clown coach with a group of young kids and parents willing to cut checks like the Rays (oh and by the way, I'm going to help my buddy who sells uniforms and make you purchase new kits again this year while your practicing on a rock and broken glass strewn public park because we have no facilitiy agreements).

You don't have respect from ANYONE in MA. I used to hate the rays, but you know what, they were RI in a nutshell. ScraPPY coach, bruising style of play--they were the real deal. You guys from bayside think you can give our girls a run in NEP? We'll chew you up like Buddy Cianci going through a plate of stuffies. Jump back buddy--you know nothing about the rays and even less about the whooping you are going to get in NEP. I hated the rays, but I'll miss playing them far more than I look forward to watching you peolpe get beat weekly next spring. By the way--good luck.

Bruno has gone out and obtained more qualified girl coaches who will train their girls to get to that level and the parents $1850 will be well spent.

You have to give it to the Rays, they went out and took their lumps at the higher level tournaments. Not many teams from RI have done that.

The Bayside girls model so far has been to avoid exposure to the regional events, and just stick to winning RI State Cup. This will obviously have to change this coming year. Once the Bayside teams get exposed outside of RI it will be interesting to see how they fare.

Well, go ask the former Rays U14 how they did. Competing at Regional cost $$$$. Since they were the Champ they deserve to go a represent RI. This year you should see 1 or 2 Bayside teams competing in Region 1 leagues. The boys will always compete well.

That is Bayside's model for bringing in the $$$. Parents have not seen those players at regional events because their kid is not good enough for those teams, Bayside knows this. So basically JMA knows he can sell an inferior product at a high cost due to the ignorance of the parents. Well said and we wish you the best. If you are happy then so am I. If you feel you have the best qualified coaches good for you. We wish you luck at regional and when you are done with regional we will see you at SC. Since you are as good as you advertised go get your *** kicked and we will be more than happy to lend a foot or two. Having said, Bayside should do our best to represent RI this year.

as a parent of a player on a town team looking to move to premier (maybe), I am not convinced by the bayside argument on this post. I am not really interested in a club "building" itself up. By the time the club becomes "solvent" and "established," my kid might have moved on. I don't have 2 or 3 years to sit back and wait for a club to get settled in at the state level. I would prefer a get-your-hands-dirty approach that emphasizes playing at the highest possilbe level. And I don't care who gets the money for uniforms. Our town team gets new stuff practicaly every year as it is. Having looked at Baydside, Bruno and Blackwatch as well as Explosion and NEFC, Bayside is not near my top choice. I've been told that they plan to again play in a local league and not venture out very far in tournaments. Also, half the parents I talked to were only lukewarm with the coaching at best. We are considering BW mostly at this point unless we go to MA.

As a Bayside parent I wish you and your kids well. Good luck with BW if you choose to. If your are looking for a club with good history I would suggest you contact the Rays if your kids is a SHE. They are the premier club in RI. If your kids is a HE please contact the NE Revolutions. I been told your kid rocks in SuperLiga. The NE Revolutions are looking for couple good local club players. we have been in the premier circuit for several years now, we are now looking into going to MA as well. I didn't want it to that but at this stage of the game, it's inevitable.

Glad to see there are some others who find this line of reasoning to be ridiculous. We left Bayside this year because of the approach that the best thing for our players is to stay at the Maple level for awhile before moving on. And now we are going to ........NEP! Come on guys. Step it up a notch. As if playing in the cellar division at the Scorpion bowl wasn't enough for "RI's best club."

Well guess we will see you in NEP. We waited as long as we can until you leave the club then made the switch to NEP.

I miss Ray's Guy. I know (as RaySide Guy) he must be laying low for a little while while he's acclimating himself to the other Bayside U14 parents, but come on can you throw us a bone and tell us you are going to win NEP this fall?

Bayside United

Just to clear up the gossips and confusions on Bayside United and Bayside FC.
Bayside United was established about 14 years ago where Stacey DeCastro was the Director of Coaches and continued being the Director of Coaches until 2005. While Director of Coaches he coached several teams and brought in many players making Bayside United a club with around 14 teams. John Mark Andrade is SD nephew, he was treated like a son by SD. While SD was going through a very sad personal time in his life, John Mark Andrade was asked to run the club for SD. John Mark took advantage of the situation, changed the club into an LLC and listed himself as the owner of this LLC. By the time SD realized this it was too late, Bayside United was now Bayside FC and it was totally controlled by John Mark Andrade.
As far as finances, while Stacey DeCastro was on the board, finances were handled by the board. In 2005 the club's finances were totally handled by John Mark Andrade.
SD after struggling with the reality that his own nephew had stolen what he had worked for so many years, decided to start a new club. This new club is called Bayside United.
Before any of you soccer people start rumors or pass judgment, please come and meet Stacey DeCastro, his coaches, and staff.
We are a new club and will be going through growing pains, however, we believe in the development of players and will treat everyone with respect.

Poor SD come on you serious he was unhappy w direction of club and decided to start sherwood soccer club how did that go he thought he was all set there w a facility then blew that too and changed the name of his club out of desperation sure him getting kicked out of sherwood was someone else's fault as well SD been taking advantage of people for years people figured him out now he blames everyone else should have did better job last 10 years rather than rest on laurels move on and prove your such a great coach without the best players like you had years ago
