Were you even there to make this comment and extremely disappointed...are you kidding me. I am nothing but proud of these boys teams and the U15 Girls who made it to the semi-finals. There are not many RI teams that can say they made it that far. Also- I congratulate everyone of the other Bayside and other RI teams for making it to Regionals! You made RI proud.

For the person whose comment I am responding to - you have just insulted everyone of these teams who put in lots of hard work over the week at Regionals with getting up at the crack of dawn for early games, playing in extreme heat and humidity and giving their all. Think before you speak.

I am not the Extremely disappointed poster but they could be disappointed and proud. They did say that they thought both boys teams were talented enough to go all the way. So they obviously think very highly of the teams. With those expectations there was a high risk of extreme disappointment. I guess!

The point I am trying to make is they are good enough to win the Region 1. No disrespect toward the teams just RI's low expectations mentality.

I was at the regionals - U12 B lost in the semis 3-0 to the team that ultimately won the championship - many think that if we play that team again they could very well win next time - the kids were very disappointed but very proud - the comment " this is the farthest a RI Boys team has ever gone" was common - to a player they are all hoping to go back to Hershey next year

Thanks for the positive input from the U-15g Rays parents, regionals was a tremendous experience this year for both the parents and the girls! I am sure we will meet again on the pitch at some point...

Good job bayside. other teams will be ready for you next season.
Just found out goal leaders were up to date girl from PDA Passed VC on final day scoring two goals to total 6 VC finished 2nd scoring 5 in 4 games. And for the record coach from Villanova spoke to Bayside coaches after game about VC. Lets try not to kill a childs dream on TS she will play D1 if she wants you can do anything you put your mind to!

This is true. VC was the leading scorer when the first claim was made. Good job VC.

Here is an interesting article regarding college scholarships.

Like I have said in a few threads here. Get your kid on a decent team with good coaching and good parental support for the team. Have fun, go to tournaments, win some trophies along the way. Go to school for a career and you are far better off doing that in a division II or division III school if your are not a superior athlete and/or student. Many kids go to division I to please the parents and end up siting the bench due to the inflated rosters those teams have. Even being all-state in Rhode island is sometimes not good enough. Division I schools recruit from around the world - that's a very big place.

OMG. You clearly have never even seen a D1 game. D1 women's soccer is just not that great. D1 might be attainable, you never know.

                      Was not a crappy bracket.

scoring goals at any game is a big deal. And scoring 5 goals at that level is pretty impressive.

Clearly this hater hasn't a damn clue what it takes to play sports in general, never mind D1 anything. Hey buddy get a clue and stop talking like you know anything about soccer or any sport for that matter. You are apparently still upset that you couldn't make JV on your high school team and through that experience you are some kind of authority... and since you couldn't make it, then that must mean no one can make it!! Shut your mouth, it's people like you that not only ruin youth sports, but you shouldn't be within 500 yards of a youth sports team period.

although i agree, the boys could have made it to and won finals, they proved alot of people wrong by making it that far. Previous posts claimed they'd be slaughtered in all games. They did a wonderful job and there is no doubt in my mind, they will be back in pennsylvania next year and they SHOULD bring home the championship. A proud u13 boys bayside mom.

Looks like Bayside profited from the Rays downfall on the girls side and will get stronger in:

Bayside U15 - Lost a decent player back down to U14 Bayside but picked up a decent mid-field replacement from Rays non-existent U14G team. Also seemed to trade up a couple kids from Bruno and Bayside 16s. Don't see anyone even close to them next year.

Bayside U14 - Strong additions from rays and also added strong mid from U15 team. This team will runaway with state's next year despite what you may hear about SC.

Bayside U13 - Decent core group of girls with playing up experience - should be interesting to see how they fill out the roster.

Bayside U16 - Remain the same but certainly peaked at regionals this year - no reason to not see them win another state title.
