When looking at the Long Island soccer landscape, there are a lot of GDA players out there, but there are not a lot of true GDA players. Same goes for ECNL, there are a lot of ECNL players out there, just not a lot of true ECNL players. There are a lot of players all over the place now, but none of the teams are that good. A lot of chests being thumped, but nobody or any one teams stands out. Just a lot of mediocrity.

I don't disagree, but the "above average" kids playing GDA and ECNL alongside the elite or close to it players, will reap the rewards of the halo effect...

While awesome for that particular child, that's one kid. As a club, that's not so impressive that it would warrant being on this site comparing yourself to Alby's history, or EM's history or many other long island clubs for that matter. Is SUSA a good club, sure, but you guys really need to stop beating your chests and acting like you're the best club in history. Like all clubs, SUSA has plenty of warts.

You just proved the exact argument OP is making! Alby and EM were the only ECNL clubs on LI for about a decade, OF COURSE they'd have a great history of college commits-they were in the top league all those years.

Honestly - they should just add Smithtown and then four other clubs to the existing three and have an all LI GDA division. It would solve the travel complaints issue and maybe even attract lots more players because of it.

You are joking but if all the talent on LI stayed put and played each other in one strong, reasonably priced league that was accessible to all the talent and not just the well off talent , it would do just that.

I disagree with the "hiding in leagues" statement...I hold my breath for the entire game when my kid plays the rugby teams at NEWSS. Believe it or not, it really is a different level.

Has smithtown made a single announcement? No, they haven't, it's just anonymous posters and that little douche Larry Miller. So if Smithtown hasn't put anything out there, how can they be lying? Funny, I'm calling them now just to get away from the current sleazy situation I'm stuck in! Smithtown's reputation is a lot better than the big clubs who are spewing out this toxic sludge.
