You're actually embarrassing when you post things that can be easily debunked. One team looks poised to head to playoffs-the 03s who are sitting comfortably at the top of the heap. The 04s and 05s *maybe* based on current standings, 05s have a better shot than 04s who have more points because they've played more games than most. Remember this is only "the north" division...top teams like PDA play in the "south" division.

Oh and using the word most for 3 *possible* teams out of 6 is a bit of a stretch, lol.

You're actually embarrassing when you post things that can be easily debunked. One team looks poised to head to playoffs-the 03s who are sitting comfortably at the top of the heap. The 04s and 05s *maybe* based on current standings, 05s have a better shot than 04s who have more points because they've played more games than most. You're fooling yourself if you think ECNL isn't going to promote the hell out of this new league. They are the masters of marketing and are looking to stick it to GDA. At least half of GDA is made up of kids/teams who just a year or so ago couldn't crack an ECNL roster. Now they're on GDA teams, schlepping all over the country, getting limited PT or getting slaughtered.

Solution? Create a league that offers them more meaningful games on an appropriate level, cut travel for league games, create regional competition and house it all under the coveted ECNL umbrella which has proven to be an attractive ally to college programs.

If it really was Smithtown's decision to discontinue their affiliation with EM (which I don't believe for a second it was), their players and families should be furious with them.

PS-Expect WCFC to be much, much stronger moving forward now that they have withdrawn from GDA and are ALL IN ECNL. Trickle down will benefit that club greatly.

You forgot to mention that EDP is a sh!!t show and destroyed any top level league that USYS had. The National League is an effing joke now and no college coach worth their salt is sifting through the hundreds of teams involved in it or the other conferences! EDP is just a bigger version of LIJSL, Massapequa should expect a MASS exodus!

Hahaha, you must be illiterate. Do you know how to read? The 04 team for sure and the 05 team are right there. You have to look at points per game to determine who's ranked where. Unless the 04 team slips up, they are in first and the 05 team is right there. Plus, top 2 teams advance to the 4 team playoff, both teams are looking good. NPL is a seperate league, so no ECNL never "promoted" it so to speak. In the NE, ECNL required clubs to have a sister "B" team with a schedule that mirrored the ECNL teams to ensure that each age group had enough depth numbers wise...NPL was happy to offer that league. In other parts of the country, this was not always the case.

Not sure what you mean by ECNL 2, that's just a working nickname that was adopted by local clubs before ECRL was officially announced.

Again, ECNL is not concerned with local leagues or local town clubs, they're going after USSF and GDA with this move.
