Why wouldn't the DA have done some market research about the effects of High School soccer on their product?

Oooohhh insults. I’m scared. You are welcome to your age based opinions. In college and beyond no one cares. Do you go to psu practices? Never understand why people are not happy with letting time decide these things. They have to make hyperbolic remarks to be satisfied. JD is one of several good GKs. Over time we will see where they end up.

The product is selling. Not to their target customer but it is selling.

Depends on the area. In some locations, they are gathering more than 50% of their intended players, closer to 70% likely. In some, it's less.

Honestly, the player who is adamant on playing HS isn't a player they WANT. They will, of course, take them with a little salt, but they would rather the player isn't one how values that experience so much.

The league is fine. It is not as popular in ny but school sports are big here. Communities and tax payers feel like they spend a small fortune for the schools and all the programs and would like to have their kids take advantage of what the schools offer.

In areas where the school tax bill is not as sky high, maybe families and players are more comfortable skipping school offerings

Is there anywhere with higher school taxes or a larger collection of high quality public high schools then ny?

sorry, but the vast majority of kids (no matter the skill level) enjoy playing with there school mates (and of course the bus rides to/from competition) are always fun and create great memories for all kids.

Aah, because you remember the days, huh?

Good thing there are kids out there who don't play soccer, but still can be active within the school and be full of school spirit. What do those kids do, if they don't play soccer?

Are you still upset you were chosen last all the time? Doesn't matter if its a sport, a club, a theater group or anything else for that matter. Its the time they get to enjoy themselves and create memories while your memories are still so painful you continue to come here to complain about what others chose to do with their own kids. F off already Twinkie.

they play lax, football, basketball, swimming, wrestling, track, bowling, there is debate club, cheering, math club competitions, music competitions, robotics...many many programs out there other than soccer... kids basically join these clubs/activities for two main reasons 1) the subject interests them and 2) they are with fellow classmates/friends that share the same interests they do...understand?

Aahh, quite the opposite. The hardest thing for me to do was to step away and allow her to choose her own path. I have fantastic HS playing memories, but those are my memories. I'm allowing her to make her own and not live vicariously through her.

So, again, because she plays soccer she HAS to play it for the HS team to make memories? She's a brilliant math student...does she have to be part of the Math club? She rides horses, and we have an equestrian program? Does she HAVE to do that? Swim? Ski? Let the kids play where they want, and as parents support them but step aside is my suggestion.

I don't complain about what others do with their kids. To each their own. But, when someone makes an all-encompassing statement, I'll ensure to shoot it down.

                          Every time.

And, I won't even do it with an insult...

Yes, I do. So, kid has lots of options to join clubs/teams for activities they enjoy. Why is it, if they prefer to play soccer elsewhere, the panties get knotted up?

It's odd that this argument is used by so many but their kids play club outside of the town/local environment where many of those school mates play. On one hand its real important on the other hand they have standards too high to play club locally.

MA, CT and NJ also all have crazy high taxes but very good schools systems overall. You get what you pay for. Out in KS you can pay $1000 a year for property taxes but you'll have to put your kids in private school.
