I didn't ask for an income statement from anyone so not sure if any were elitist DB's....
My daughter played there for 4 years, and elitist tag is true, sad and true.

Its posts like this that make you realize what a cesspool youth sports has become. DE is a great, god fearing man with a passion for the sport that runs through his entire family. Who cares if he gave his kid instructions? Why does that make him a bad guy?

If his kid is happy then so am I.You are no one to judge him of anyone else unless his behavior crosses the line and it never did.

Black players at WC and/or NYCFC were in the minority, but some were among the best players in that Club.

Not getting into the rest, but parents should absolutely STFUalready on the sidelines. While I appreciate he may actually know what he's talking about, and more than most, the reality is if he's not saying the exact same thing as the coach, it's going to fubar the entire team up.

If you don't trust the coaching, then you shouldn't be there.

That is silly. If there was high quality coaching available - everyone would immediately leave where they are and put their players with a good coach. You find something you can try to live with. Period.

that said - parents should save the coaching for their own time with their players - not game time.

What nonsense. His job is to develop his child. More power to him. People need to understand that this team thing in Club is hypocritical. Playing games is part of individual development. Players should use them to get better. To try things. That ay or may not jive with a coach whose agenda is to win games to build his own resume.

My daughter played on this team, and that family was always supportive of the girls, whoever is bashing them is a low-life, and yes he would instruct her sometimes, but he also instructed some others, which was actually very good soccer advice, unfortunately even he could not fix those players, hahaha.

Bella Sember’s dad still gives her instructions during games, little hand-signals or whistles, been there, seen that, maybe that's why she is a great player???

i dont need some cookie cutter article to tell me how to parent my child. From what i can see DE has done a fine job of raising his kids. Ill take that as evidence that on balance, he is doing it right.

nice article...but the kids in the photo look to be about 6 or 7 years old!!!!
I get it, why go nuts over a kiddie soccer game for kids at this age.

Will Messi and Suarez be sitting nicely nicely when the kids are playing as 10-11 year olds (or older) in league competition? What will they do? How will they act? what will they do if one of their kids miss a kick, or gets beat repeatedly on the pitch?

Do you stand outside your kid's math class and tell the teacher how to teach? Even if you are a mechanical engineer? Not a public school with 80 kids in it, but a high-level school (private?)?

Let the coaches do their job. Why are you paying the club so much $%&@ money to override what they are doing? Just teach them yourselves if you know so much...

He can instruct his kid all he wants; can't shut parents up when it comes to their own kids. Not my style. I just cheer the teams on, nice job etc. But parents should not be coaching kids that aren't their own. I don't care if they're right. They're not the coach. If they want the job, apply for it or volunteer to help out and sit on the player side.
