omg. If your player wants to play HS they should play HS. No one cares that much. Not even us soccer in many cases. season is like 10 weeks.

So then they just get rid of the ban and be done with it. Stop playing games where people just break the rules and the league's credibility erodes even more.

Maybe but pick your battles. Find an acceptable situation for your kid and play on. After that HS issue there will be another issue and another issue and another issue and so on. They grow up fast and there are always issues and always will be. Worrying about a HS ban or some silly policy totally outside of your your or my control will not produce any changes or have any effect.

Why don’t you just have your rich husband buy the league and stfu already.

At least there was 1 GDA club that did not bend for families, NYCFC did not allow girls to play high school soccer participation, at all. The 2 girls that tired were kicked out, so say what you want about Kaz and Fredy, but at least they understood their obligations.

And one could argue they were the best club in the region and certainly well respected. Like someone said if you offer something people really want they're more willing to make the sacrifices. Too bad they aren't still in it to serve as an example of how it's supposed to be done.

Maybe they are an example of how flawed it is or was since they are no longer in business serving any players at all.

If you are paying attention you can see that these leagues are not about the players or soccer - they are about how to get market share and put each other out of business. If you are carrying on about a bunch of marketing blabber and presenting it as actual useful guidance - you probably work at one of these businesses.

There are always suckers born everyday but it seem that most families see this situation for what it is and act accordingly. They try to make something work for their players and are not concerned with accommodating the userous youth soccer industry as it steals more and more of our players beloved sport away from them.

USSDA allows for waivers... If players have a waiver, they are not breaking the rules. That said, it's clear that GDA clubs are granting waivers to top players to keep them happy and then using placeholders during the fall season. If top players (some YNT kids) are still playing HS and not committing to the "full" DA philosophy, what's the point?

The point is that customers see right through the "full DA philosophy" or the "full ecnl philosophy" and do what they need to do. The more players that resist nonsense and take back soccer for they players the better.

That's not what the waivers are for. Those are for private school kids who, through part of their education, are required to do activities/sports. Since many were already committed, they are waivering them so they can join after. A waivered kid should be on the roster for now.

The loophole being exposed is that you can add players to the roster up until April. So, some are just adding players after the HS season. Technically not illegal, but definitely against the spirit of the rule.
