WCFC was never up front about this situation, and now its too late to go to STA or NYSC, damn....
Your daughter is on the composite team? Did she play at all last season?! I can't believe that you would accept that gig this year .... and not have done your homework!

I find that hard to believe that WC wouldn't refund you given the Composite team season doesn't start until the spring.

Average of 1/3 of the players are left without a team. Every. Year. Every. Club. Nationwide. It’s a cluster that forming these “composite” teams doesn’t solve. Youth Soccer participation is down 15% and climbing.

ECNL should wake up, change to grad year age groups and instantly grab huge market share. Still would be under “birth year mandate” simply by using the older year in the grad year. This season for example:
        U19 Class of 2021, Seniors (“2001”)
        U18 Class of 2022, Juniors (“2002”)
        U17 Class of 2023, Sophomores (“2003”)
        U16 Class of 2024, Freshmen (“2004”)
        U15 Class of 2025, 8th Graders (“2005”)
        Etc.

Simple. Inclusive. Team for everyone. Aligns with college recruitment. Doesn’t violate birth year mandate.
Simply can’t believe ECNL continues to let GDA age groupings ruin soccer for so many in ecnl.
Seniors this year are Class of 2020. And not sure why you are specifying birth years - isn't that what you are trying to get rid of?

If your kid can play another club will work with you. If their roster is already full or close they've hit their breakeven number so an extra $1500 to them is gravy. If your kid is #6-22 on the roster you may be out of luck.

Here is something I don't understand. On the ECNL website, it appears there are two U18/U19 divisions. One is labeled "U18/19 Composite" and the other is simply "U18/19". The latter has a full 14 game schedule, and the former only has the 7 game schedule mentioned above. In addition, the website has a separate section for the Composite conference here:

            https://www.eliteclubsnationalleague...site-division/

Why do they have 2 separate divisions for the same age group?

The longer schedule group is straight up U19s made up of nearly all seniors who have been a team for awhile. Composite is a bit of a mashup - there's kids not getting enough PT on younger teams and NPL players with nowhere to go because NPL doesn't have a bracket for that age group. Obviously plenty will call it a money grab. But there are kids who have nowhere to play their senior year so this is an option.

It's interesting because the WC ECNL-R composite team has a full 14-game. Surprised that the ECNL composite team doesn't.

Fake Post. First of all, if you were really on the team, you would know a plan is in place to get the girls seen before they need to make decisions about college. Second, if your kid is on the composite team, you would also know that all of the World Class FC '02 is committed, and the coach of the composite team and the ECNL team will be moving kids around all season. HMMM, smells like the U18/19 Team at NYSC is short players. HA HA HA HA, good try though--Parent of a real composite team player

Move players around? Like Jeff really wants any of those girls, please. The only plan is to ignore our concerns, besides my kid is committed already, and she is a better player than any girl on the u19 ecnl team.

The WC u19 ecnl composite team reminds of my favorite TV series: The Leftovers.

Aren’t most of these players former NYCFC DA players at this age group?

Nope, its a mis-mash of players, 01’s, 02’s, and a few from a parallel universe, where random people just disappeared one day, that was a strange event no doubt.

Huh. Where did all the 01 and 02 NYCFC DA players go?

Probably short players for the fall at least. Most of their seniors are playing high school so they will need players to fill in until they get back.
