not really. all it proves is that real talent is rare. any rational parent knows this. Maybe putting rational and parent in the same sentence when it comes to self assessment is a reach.

Most motivated kids play wherever to get better. a pro contract, scholarship, etc are milestones from getting better. that is common to both boys and girls.

too many parents look for conspiracy theories. There may be some, but guess what, the better you are, the less relevant they are.

It's for affluent athletes. Not whining. Clear on who is in the pond and who is out but you seem to be way way overselling these super deluxe soccer leagues for some reason. No one is entitled to play fancy pay to pay soccer or is damaged if they are not in those leagues. But understand who they are for.

Who is talking about his kid? Talking about the others. Last time I checked. Soccer is played by a team. And here, in high level pay to pay leagues, it is played by a team of kids from families with enough disposable income to do it with the exception of the mls academies. Is what it is.

Nothing new in this discussion. Gda was a huge disappointment. They carried on about what a problem pay to play was in ecnl but they addressed it only with lip service and nothing else. All talk and no action. Nothing wrong with it but nothing special. That just gave a big serving of what we already had. Meh.

Or maybe he spent a ton of money for his kid to get outside, individual training on top of the very costly DA prices ..... kind of like Pulisic.

If he was talented enough to go pro now he would have been talented enough to go pro ten years ago. He just would have done it in whatever club or ABC league he could have trained with back then The best player to come out of DA recently was Pulisic who didn't play for an MLS club but was blessed with perfect genes, inner drive, parents who had a clue and the ability to get a European passport.

One of the biggest issues with DA is it's one-size fits all Walmart approach to soccer. They need player volume to make the system work, but it isn't in the best interest of the country's true top talent. MLS clubs are now pushing back because they know playing low quality teams is a waste of their time.

Yes they are responsible but it shouldn't have been surprising. They haven't done much on the men's side despite now going into their 12th year. Many people predicted how this would go down and it's al came to fruition, I think even faster than even the doubters thought it would

even if he did, the TALENT has to be there. All these comments imply that anyone can be elite. Thats why the GDA, ECNL and any other league you mention fail to educate parents because its not in their best interests.

There is not enough elite talent to sustain ANY of these leagues at a high level. The only reason people rail against the GDA or BDA is because for some reason they hold them responsible for the fact that talent is rare and BUSINESSES are profit driven

another ridiculous comment because the GDA is made up of CLUBS. The ethos of those clubs is to make MONEY. No different to ECNL ones or anything else.
