But you've also no idea what they're doing away from the club to get ready. Given the situation I don't really blame them and plenty of other seniors are checked out too. Maybe the poster should have said "happens often enough" rather than "normal"

why do you assume I have no idea? I think many people including me have a very good idea. The kids know. Its hardly a trade secret.

If you know what your kids' teammates do off the field you're either hyper involved or just creepy. It's up to the players to put the work in. If they don't they'll get thrashed come August. But it's none or your business. Crack the whip with your own kid.

Following teenage girls' social media accounts isn't creepy at all! You keep digging that hole deeper and deeper.

The funny thing is they didn't think anything was wrong when they admitted stalking kids online. Clueless

Sounds like a loser parent from our team. Probably drives a nice car though.

I don't follow my kid's teammates online. My kid has them all on the snapchats and instagram and sees whats happening and sometimes mentions it. I usually just say it has nothing to do with you so do not be bothered by what others are doing with their time.

so unless you then get brainwashed, you have an idea what they are doing without following them yourself.

By the way, your comment is beyond dumb. Unless you tell your kid to delete all her social media, the entire point IS to know what people are doing because they are making it your business by telling you.

                            sample conversation.

kid - dad, want to do some extra training this summer pre college
dad - great, what are your teammates doing
kid - from what i see on sm, not much
dad - ok, lets ask around

Nothing about that has to be creepy, nosey or anything else. in fact its a perfectly normal conversation. Not a big jump to think that those making into more are concerned that maybe their kids have not done enough ?

They didn't make the playoffs and there isn't an 18/19 age group for the showcase.

Trust me, if they had made the playoffs, they would have 2 or 3 that would of gone...thats it.
