there are players simply not treated as well as the ordained "special" a/k/a your "good" player despite workinmg their butts off and simply aren't given the same opportunity as your "good" player. Hard work should be rewarded by all.

They should not put players in starting line and give substantial playing time when they miss practice, etc.
Parents crying favorites when their kid doesn't play. Same everywhere, hey, work harder and prove yourself. Good coaches pick the best players, not the biggest babies.

you seem to have jumped to games. its only an issue when playing at a level that parents demand be called elite. at the top levels of sport, ability is an input. Sorry. Trying hard does alone does not cut it. Thats the point. There should be a level at which your kid can play, have fun and feel rewarded for her effort. It should not be the so called top level.

Parents want it both ways. Elite, but not s elite than my kid does not get substantial minutes

and no, they wouldn't. the are taking your money and you seem unhappy. why not leave and find a level where your kid plays a lot IF that is whats important to you?

correct. like i keep saying, these clubs accurately reflect the attitude of most parents. even if they dont pick the best players - leave or try harder to make yourself undroppbale. But stop complaining either way.

the difference between player 5-20 on most rosters is pretty small.

Sure go with that. Your kid is obviously one of those.

Exactly. And there are politics. Perhaps the poster left a long time ago or was speaking hypothetically. Don’t ASUME. especially if you are the entitled one whose kid is the superstar or worst on the team as identified by the coaching staff who are so objective.

Agreed and same stuff happens at town. Difference is some of these so called elite clubs have some behind the scenes bs. Yes the family should leave if it’s not working for them.

Also Difference here is the clubs supposedly require the kids to give up hs and other stuff. The so-called tough guy is probably one whose kids “work so much harder” than anyone else”” and are identified by the kids club as “special” so easy for them to sit on their high horses.

The truth is life ain’t fair.

There's politics everywhere, some places worse than others. But on average I'd say maybe it's 20% favoritism or politics and 80% the player is on the wrong team or not putting in the effort. In an ideal world a coach wouldn't take a player that probably won't play much, but we know that will never happen. Parents need to open their eyes. Their kid isn't that good and/or isn't willing to put in the effort to really improve. Unless you're very confident they'll be a consistent starter, look somewhere else

Are all our NY GDA teams going out to San Diego? Any teams not going because of testing or not enough players? Asking because we were told that we HAVE to go, even though our U14's really aren't in a playoff

Which Club are you with? What will they do if you do not go, put you in the DA jail?

Nope not DA jail, and not telling you what club. We were going with my older daughter, but team was told spots would not be offered to players not attending for next season. Commitment is everything in this club
