Based on what I read on here, it's:

I actually foresee it getting better as kids didn't have the change dumped on them in the middle of high school and can make an informed decisions vs. pressured ones.

In the end it will become one league. There is no way it does not ultimately consolidate and the idea that only one league's clubs will be "the winners" is pretty naive. I would give it 2-3 more years before the consolidation takes place. Do not think that will really mean fewer teams, though. Maybe a few really bad performers get dropped but it will not be substantial. It is US Soccer and it is about money and for the near future parents will remain the revenue source.

That is very tru. I have heard from girls who were dropped off ECNL teams this year and have found new homes at NYSC and STA GDA. I guess that’s the way of soccer these days

all that tells you is that NYSC and STA need to fill slots. Has nothing to do with GDA or ECNL really. its all about clubs and more specifically teams.

And they need to fill slots because they're in a poor quality league that no one wants. So yeah it does have something to do with GDA. There's too many poor quality teams around here which were allowed in and allowed to remain by USSF.

STA is brand new to DA, so they had to find players. NYSC seems to be going towards fielding large rosters, which should be concerning for players who are staying around.

Say what you like about Kaz, Fredy, and the whole NYCFC team, losing them to ECNL is a huge (open-handed) slap to the GDA, they cannot be replaced. 03/04 teams are stronger than any around here, even better than PDA or Stars in some respects, just bad all around for the GDA.

I actually think the 03 World Class team will be better that the current NYCFC team. The drama on that team is toxic. Looking forward to a drama free year in 19/20. Will be free of 2 of the most angry women I have ever met.
