No one should be ok with that, least of all USSF. It's inexcusable. Take the loss if you have to but don't waste people's time and money (travel, ref fees, field rentals). If they lie about having 11 players that should be grounds for immediate loss of league participation.

Albertson has turned into a joke. Clubs like EMSC and Susa have blown by them. Even LISC has better structure and is much more organized. What a shame.

Not OP and I have absolutely nothing against Alby or Fury, but I have to agree-having 5 players schlepp to a game that won't be played is kind of crappy. Why not just forfeit?
On the other hand, if coach thought 10 additional players were going and they just bailed, that's just unfortunate.

Turned into a joke? They were a joke before and never should have been included in GDA. It's a symbol of all that is wrong with NE GDA right now.

Time is not on their side. U14s are winless, a few ties. They tied NYSC a few months ago and lost to them 2-0 more recently. Not a good trend line. LIS is the only one worse at that age. U15s are 7-15-4, U17s 6-18-1 and U19s 0-15-0. If they didn't have Empire and Seacoast to beat they'd be fully in the basement (U19s are and are -104 GD). Even if they keep their badge (which, sadly, the probably will becasue USSF is desperate) how many players will stay for next year? If you're any good and either want to stay in GDA or go ECNL, you've probably locked something in elsewhere already.

Problem was the DA was awarded to ECNl clubs to make them "choose" a direction and they got a slap in the face when they realized no one wanted it.

Daughter is on the NYCFC GDA 00/01 team, and this is our last week with the club, its been up and down, but for us mostly ups...which given the insane club landscape, we consider ourselves lucky to get out alive. It was obvious to many of the parents that once GDA started letting more NPL clubs into the league, that it was finished. That fact has proved-out during these last 20 months. If the starter club was not ECNL, the level of competition was poor. Its 100% as simple as that, and yes there are exceptions, but overall if your foundation is poor, so is your building.
