Can't speak for others but I don't know anyone that cares too much if some other kid does or does not want to play HS soccer. People have enough to do figuring out their own players situation. Who has time or energy to focus on what others are doing?
You are delirious. on some gda teams, families who were considering gda were told no high school allowed but you wouldn't regret it as you will get alot of playing time and superior training. The same club told other families go play hs and after hs season you can join and play immediately. The hs playing kids came in and started right away agter the hs season and took playing time away from kids on the same team who were told no hs allowed but were convinced to join the team before hs. Is that a good culture?

No. Is the club still saying HS is only for some players and not any player that wants it? What club?

Absolutely the club! USSF does not want kids playing high school, period. They only allow private school waivers out of necessity because some kids depend on soccer to be in those schools (you can argue that but it's basically how it works). In BDA there are some clubs that won't even allow private school waivers. First a club has to approve it then USFF has to approve it. Clubs still have to play their scheduled games so they can't afford to be down too many players.

And that's the just the legit waivers - then there's others that do the "wink wink nudge nudge go play HS and come back". Yes DA has a legitimate add on period should a club "discover" a new player or want to add on B team players, but then intention isn't to allow kids to come and go depending on when HS is played in the state. Clubs that do it are abusing the loophole because they're desperate for top players. It kills their credibility and creates all kinds of tension among teammates and families.

Clubs do this for the players they really want, the top starters. The rest of the roster can pound sand in their eyes. Why any parent would tolerate that kind of rule abuse by a club is beyond me. Then the parents who let their kids skirt the rules are a whole special class of failure.

Parents are not directly reposnsible for the horrible situation that has developed in youth soccer. The HS soccer workaround should be available to all the players or none. (except for the private school one on soccer scholarships). If all the kids that want it can get it, then let them play HS. That may be the only way all these leagues can survive at all.

Why are you dancing around the club you are complaining about? Name the club. And hey if you don't like the politics and you are aware of them - its try out season, go find something better. If you can.

It's not always the top starters. It's often the so-so favorites or the ones whose parents are in good with the coach or have connections. Sometimes you don't know going into a situation that this will be the case. I cannot understand why parents or players would put up with this for more than one season.

Yes. It is try out season. What gda clubs have what policies? That is necessary information to have when trying to understand where to try out. Not every poster has a secret agenda.

Where does your little Marta's skill level play in this?

Your failure is not teaching your daughter this is a team sport. You wouldn't have won a game without my kid. You chased away half the team and you couldn't win a game before my kid got here. Have your child take up golf you f'n loser. Teach you kid how to be polite and make friends with her teammates instead of hopping around with her best buddies after each goal.

Definitely happened this year at Fury DA and Albertson DA.

And to the previous poster that said everyone should do it if they want, that doesn't work at all. There are GDA games scheduled during HS season, so they need to big enough rosters not playing HS to field teams.

If anyone is seriously considering GDA next year, they should be asking up front how many kids will be allowed to join after HS season and/or the current/max roster size.

Oops must have hit a nerve. Let me guess, your kid played hs and is one of the so-so favorites or you made a big donation to the club or you let the coach use your beach house.

This is good advice, as long as the clubs will answer honestly.
