They do want you playing ECNL or GDA especially if you committed to them. They really like versatile players, if you are at a clinic/camp and they move your kid around the interest is real. They will show up at a practice or league game. They will show up at a HS game but really just to be seen by you and talk to you. If this happens you are in. Just dont mess up. You will know in 9th grade if there is interest. It is not uncommon for 100 coaches to attend a single game at an ecnl event. I cant see why gda would be any different. NL wont get 100 div 1 coaches to the entire event let alone 1 game.

Families make choices, and they all have great reasons for their motivations, so what can't we just wish these families good luck, and hope to see them at a college game some day, is that so hard???
The soccer landscape has become so watered down, that no one can offer the best training, with the best players, in the best league. Pick where you think your child will do best and be happy. That is all you can ask for. They will be off to college before you know it, and the last thing you want is for your kid to say is that they were miserable with the decision you made for them

As another person posted, the only ones we paid any attention to were the ones from coaches that she had solicited prior to tournaments and that showed up for at least one of her games .... she picked the schools for academic reasons, emailed those coaches, and then paid attention tot he coaches that came to see her play and then contacted her or her coach .... and it was dually noted which coaches came for more than one game.

While I would love for them to stay, they are doing what they feel is best for their child. We feel staying is best. We know what we get with World Class and Kaz. While other clubs reached out to us with offers that sounded great, some of the offers were just too good to believe. As a family we felt that they oversold us on things that could not be true.

to these kids leaving WC/NYCFC. how many elite players have the coaches you are going to helped grow? How many of their alumni come back to the club? How many unfulfilled promises do they make?
If you have positive answers to questions like these, good luck. if you dont, you are making a mistake. Some people need to make it for themselves to realize. Just be humble enough to accept it IF it is indeed one and find the right place. Forget your egos. In College, the best players play. Arguing over who is the best becomes pointless.

In Club soccer, parents allow thie egos to fool them into thinking wherever tehy are is teh bvest.

its also very hard for people to be objective. they are IN a situation and they assume the next one will be so much better. big picture is hard to see.
ego forces some to repeat the mistakes of the past.

savvy parents know chasing badges doesn't matter. a good player is made from hard work, good coaching and challenging teammates, not what badge is on the sleeve.

and they are just taking her word for it. You will not get 1 cent offered without submitting grades at some point.
re: camps and clinics they will want her there even if she is already committed. In fact they will want her there even more.
Remember we are talking best of the best. They dont take risks on grades and they want to see some dedication on your part. I also know how import these camps/clinics are for schools to evaluate potential student athletes. With that said, I have not personally been exposed to all of the schools that were listed and I dont know how the recruiting process plays out for other people. I now have 2 daughter's who went or are going through the process and the process was almost identical 6 years apart. The only differences are that the club is helping much more this time and time table seems to have slowed down 6-8 months.
A little tip... they waited until the first school reached out and engaged them and then set their targets at a higher level of soccer and reached out to schools from that list. Ironially it appears daughter #2 is turning down offers from a Big10 and 2 ACC schools for an A10 school. The first school to contact her! Scholarship is about the same and they all offer what she wants to do in life. The A10 school is much closer to home and much smaller in size. This is what appealed to her. Refreshing part was that none of the schools put major pressure to verbal early and now due to age restrictions essentially cant discuss packages again until a year from now. The A10 school essentially said they would like to know no later than winter of her Jr year. The other schools want to know by spring of Soph year, essentially by this time next year. Daughter #1 was under much more pressure, got her first offer in 8th grade, committed in 9th grade to a school with a big football stadium, played one year and transferred to another school with a slightly smaller football stadium.
