I have a '05 girl who was in CO. We, and our club, have had some passing contact with some area coaches due to a Combine she attended, but it's nothing serious as it's too early in my mind. That being said, after CO there has been contact made by a handful of coaches to our Club.
It does appear to be a situation where they were watching games, maybe specific players, and something piqued their interest while watching.
I know that's vague, but seems to not align with your above comment - and which was also my thinking before CO as well.

Second, we are interested only in colleges that align with her educational goals. If a TS poster considers that to be "top" is irrelevant.
Last, it doesn't matter their reasoning. Only that a series of colleges who prior to that event had had no contact, made contact after to the clubs about some of the players.

the good clubs are helping parents set realistic expectations and "refining" it to 100 schools is not realistic.

If you are primarily academically focused, thats cool, but most of the top programs are also excellent academically. The problem is most kids are not good enough soccer wise to play there.
That leads to parents saying...we are interested only in colleges that align with her educational goals. If a TS poster considers that to be "top" is irrelevant.
