WOW- 100 TOP Dvision 1 coaches came to watch your daughter, That is amazing! That must have included Stamford, UCLA, North Carolina, Duke, Florida State, USC, Georgetwon. What were the other schools?

Looks like the 04 NYCFC put on a scoring clinic on Albertson this weekend. Gotta love the NYCFC social media department taking a renewed interest in the girls program

How is scoring lots on an inferior opponent worthy of high praise. Nothing against any players involved on either side that contest was not exactly a fair fight. I think if NYCFC were actually paying attention they could have found a more interesting or competitive game to focus on.

Poster still doesn't get that 1) those coaches still watch ECNL players also 2) coaches shop with their pre set list and weren't there to watch HIS kid 3) this area has very few players that will got to top soccer programs; good schools, just not good soccer 4) 100 coaches at 3 games with rosters of say 20 kids per team really isn't that many coaches per game or per player

Still confused about claims like this. College coaches from top college soccer programs generally attend games which have players who reached out to them with their schedules. They do not go to games just to see if there's a great player that they might want. Yes, it's possible they see someone so good that they might grab a brochure and reach out afterwards, but for the top programs, this is extremely rare. If 100 coaches attended your daughter's games, was it because they all came to see her/ Or was it that they came to see players in the games who invited them and your daughter happened to also be in those games?

Top College programs - soccer wise that may be 20 schools - attend the games of kids THEY want to see. You can reach out all you want, but they know who they are interested in. 100 schools don come to see any kid because no kid is appealing to 100 schools. Most schools know if they do or do not stand a chance and they wont waste time watching unless they do. The only rare exception is when say 4 of the top end prospects are playing in the sae game. Some coaches will come to watch just for the fun of it.

So many parents write things assuming their kids are elite. The reality is, if she is, you already know. You will get 50 letters after every event. You will get smiles from coaches. You will not be asked to attend clinics and camps. Its obvious

Thank you for proving you know nothing. 100 top Division 1 coaches? There's no such thing as 100 top division 1 schools. Hell the top division 2 schools routinely destroy these lower "top 100" D 1 schools and even top D 3 schools beat them. All you did with this statement is show how absolutely fu#$%^& stupid you are.

No the poster's kid will get invited - because everyone gets invites these days. But it doesn't mean any are actually interested in his kid. His naivite will cost him a pretty penny.

Just curious. How does a coach know who they want to see?

Players and/ or club coaches reach out prior to an event with a player resume and usually some video. Assistant coaches usually pre screen them for the head coach and they come up with their shopping list for the event. Top programs literally get 100s of reachouts. They can't go see everyone who contacts them. They don't window shop. a player might catch their eye while they're watching a game but for the most part they're looking at who is on their list. They don't want to waste too much effort on a player that isn't interested in their program (if they were interested they should have reached out right?).

Exactly, so the fact that there are, as one poster claims, 100 top coaches at their kids game (I don't believe that), is somewhat irrelevant. Those coaches are there to see specific, pre-selected kids, not to just watch a game and see who they like. Could you get lucky and your kid gets spotted while a coach is watching another kid, yes, but it's very unlikely

                              How about a reach-around?

This is exactly my point (DA parent here). It's a social event. It's for fun, if you want that type of thing.

Why is it so hard for many to comprehend that some kids just don't want to get involved with that type of social event? They have fun in other ways? Is there something wrong with that?
