Don't be a shill for something where you are clearly the pawn. It is not setup to benefit you optimally. You may get something out of it in the end, but at a far more expensive and less than ideal way. If training is important and beating teams from California don't matter, then why travel across the country if the East Coast college coaches won't even be there?

Who am I shilling for? I think the whole "my league is better than yours" penis measuring contest is silly. I especially think people who point to a league not being worthwhile simply because our NE team results vs Californian teams is insane. In the end all that matters is whether individual players get seen by the coaches they want to be seen by. Nothing else. If that happens through either league, great. I hope for the kids to get the outcomes they work for, whether they do it by playing for Oakwood, NYCFC or World Class, it doesnt really matter.

^^ most people will not do the analysis you imply because the results are pretty clear. Most player do not get the outcomes that they feel their wallets deserve. They get the outcomes they actually WORK for. Paying has been allowed to replace working and frankly, Clubs win either way. they dont care.

the only way any program produces consistent success is by having a mechanism to remove those that are not meeting the required standards and replacing them with those that do. None of these Clubs have that. They have no incentive to.

the only thing a parent can try an monitor is how hard their kid works. That can be uncomfortable for some, so instead they look at team results and implicitly blame others. Players, coaches, admins, the USSF etc etc.

lol. They can also monitor how hard the coach works. That can be equally unimpressive.

You must be the shill for ECNL. The league that has 22 kids on a roster. The league that your kid plays 10-15 minutes after traveling to showcases. The league that adds players at the last minute and sends them to ID events instead of a kid that have been an established team player with equal or better talent then the newcomer. The league that the soccer is also awful. Oh by the way get ready for ECNL 2 & ECNL3. Because there are so many great players still to find. It's about the money people. That's all, just separating you and your money. Enjoy the ride and stay off the internet.

What you described is exactly GDA ..... also throw in constantly replace top teams with bottom feeders further worsening a struggling league. Gheez guys, take a break. You can't replace top teams with crap and expect the league to move forward. Lessen the number of teams and consolidate talent unless this is merely a money and power grab like everyone thinks.

Agreed. Much better to have two teams from one club than to open it up to another. Much better to have crap teams to pad your stats against than to compete against like-minded quality that you've held back.

Tiresome. These leagues are just a reflection of each other with minor differences.
