No this is funny. What would be funnier is girls give up Hs in the fall and then the Ginga girls come in and take their places in the spring

No CT player is dumb enough to fall for this joke. And what is Fury thinking? Ginga isn't that good and surely they can fill roster spots with local average players no?

I'm not in favor of hosting all events only in warm (or freakin' HOT) locations. We are a nation of wide ranging climatic factors, and all should be taken into account. Why should cold-weather teams always have to play when it's 100 degrees, and not vice-versa?

We were in CO last June for the NPL finals, and it was ridiculously hot. This wasn't all that unusual, more the norm than the snow we just had. Where were the complaints then?

Denver has a lot of merits in terms of it's location. Reasonable (barely) flight times across the country; many facilities with dozens of fields at the ready - and all in great shape. Nice city, plenty to do off the pitch, and accessible weed.

Not going to indict everyone and everything over something that was not the norm. I'd be more concerned about events being scheduled in guaranteed harsh weather.
        Guys

The weather was terrible all over the country last week

Pouring rain in the easy coast

        Tornadoes in the south west

        Snow in the Midwest

        It was unlucky

        No one can
        Control the weather

Actually not that easy to do this ahead of time. It takes a week minimum to get acclimated to Denver's altitude for people who live closer to sea level. A pretty good amount of regular visitors to that city get sick enough to need medical attention.

train with a mask that restricts oxygen....there is always something you can do...and if you need to get there ahead of time...than thats what you gotta do.

Or go there play, win or lose, and come back home. No one will remember or care who won or lost these games 24 hours after they are over.

oh yeah, the average youth soccer player will do that, for sure.

If you're not accustomed to the altitude even simple exertions can wind you. Thing is, most teams would be suffering the same issues. The only teams with advantages pretty much would just be the local CO teams.

It's a factor, but players deal with it. It doesn't take a week, you are actually OK for the first 1-2 days, it hits you over the next 1-2, then you are fine.

But, get out there a day ahead of time, do your intense training ahead of time, and manage yourselves and the minutes accordingly. They had out O2 tanks everywhere - which we never thought were necessary but some do.

When it was hot, my D had a couple of post-game issues but recovered OK. This past weekend it never came up.

I think fury and other teams have had out of state players competing here and there on teams for years. Dont think they train on Long island, they just play some games with the club. Not sure how much it costs to do this but presumably if you have the money and your kid is can play above average soccer, an arrangement could probably be made.

Gotta admit, PR is a draw...families don't care if the kids train w him, they just want him to know their kids' names and to be able to say the kids play for him.

Draw is probably the connections if you can afford to access them. Way of the world on LI, CT, and everywhere else. what you really want is a connected phone call to the desirable program within reason, my be just the ticket for those with enough cash.

he will have 100s of kids playing in his club, you will be lucky if he gets to train your kid for an hour if the trainer cant make it....chances are he will not know who your brat kid is out of 100s.

There are not hundreds. You can count how many there are and the poster's point was that the value is in the phone call, not the personal training.
