I won't vouch for every team, but I know ours does and it is reconciled with USSF. I've seen the reports.

Uh, said they couldn't connect a pass. And yeah right, I am sure you are never critical of a sports team, politician, school system, etc.

Also what would be the incentive for the clubs to be honest in these reports. They aren't going to say we have players that are below par and risk being kicked out of the league.

It's pretty evident after a season who can keep up and who can't. If they don't cut bait, the league will do it for them.

There are so many warts with GDA. This is coming from a parent. Substitution rules high school rule, etc make it a very difficult decision to chose GDA over other opti9ns.
Why is the GDA thread on this forum as well as other forums by the far the most posted and consistently posted threads of any.

Same players developed under a different program....

the program is irrelevant. if the same people are looking at the same players they are probably going to stick to their initial evaluation. Does not matter if the player is ECNL, GDA or anywhere else. Changing it implies (to weaker folks) a mistake. To rational people its the natural evolution of things.

Think about it. Mark Carr has promoted players to u20 and u23 teams who have done nothing on the field to justify it. He can do it because there is no oversight. There is no one above him to say "what are you doing and why ?"

Some people here seem to think the USSF is this big entity with resources and a plan. On the womens side I can tell you that is not close to being the case. Organizationally they are hanging on by a thread. They are so stretched that expecting a weel thought out roll out of some grand visions is naive at best.

Not really. To try to build every player from the same mold makes it difficult to change and evolve as the game does. Lots of different types of players with different games and hard choices for coaching staffs is what will lead to successes in the future. If you have a team built on athleticism, you need athletes, if you have a team built on possession, then you need possession players ... of course a little crossover, but, in general, no teams should play exactly the same way and if you try out lots of different players you never know where you can find synergy and chemistry ... sometimes from unlikely sources. Building them all the same rarely achieves anything other than lack of ability to adapt.

^^^Amen. This is why you need Clubs who have real incentive to develop players o doing it. The competition should be on who can develop the best player, that is not the same as who can win the most game, especially at youth level. You can win a lot of games by playing simple , lump it soccer and relying on recruiting a physical edge BUT over time vs better players, that will not work.

You are not doing your player a favor by doing that IF they want to progress further in the game.

There is little incentive here to take real pride in the players you produce. Clubs focus on results and then brag about what schools kids go to. In reality, developing players that have the ability to be recruited by top 10 schools should be the only real measure that counts.

If i graded Clubs based on a system that took into account the quality of the commit and the amount of $$ offered, the numbers of say top 25 schools interested in the player pool that club produces. Then normalized it for volume. I think you would find that some clubs are nowhere near are productive as others. You would find that volume is overrated. You would find that wining =/= quality commits.

The clubs people rate produce a high volume of average players, but they dont develop any more elite players than some clubs with a fraction of the publicity.

in the right set up, those are not warts. It should be simple. If HS is important to you, this product is not for you. The problem is partly geography. every person does not have a convenient GDA and ECNL option withing 20 minutes. So instead of accepting this, they try and change the focus of the local option.

IF the GDA mandate was to collect as many elite players as possible, then HS and suns would be a non issue. Its ONLY an issue because to survive in its current form, the GDA needs players of ALL abilities and de facto it has more average ones than elite. Therefore, HS and subbing IS an issue.

That's not happening. Too much stroke between the heads of those clubs with the DA, plus players moving up will make the argument that things are turning around.

Totally unrelated to the topic of GDA but ok....it doesn't eliminate the ability of players to call coaches or use club coaches as intermediaries. All this did was make a few adjustments to what was voted on last year in terms of communication and visits.. Early recruiting will still occur.

Looks like NYCFC 03 have a tough bracket this weekend, Tophat/3, Legends/4, and Courage/16. This should be a good test, 2-1 would be great.

How about Solar FC, 25-0-1, wows, since I have first-hand knowledge, would take them over any other 02 team in the country, ECNL, NL, NPL, EDP, and AYSO....monsters, all of them.

1-2 is more like it, unless the 04 midfielder is back, if so, and they can put aside their differences, this team could be a strong representation of our region at the GDA playoffs
