With all the “restructuring” of this league, and running new tournaments and cups. As well as dealing with the ***** kissing for the MLS clubs on the boys side, how does US Soccer figure they can do the one job we actually need them to do, which is scout for talent. The resources they are putting into the DA leagues is ridiculous and the more time they spend on this stuff, the worse our teams perform

I'm not even sure what "resources" they put into it other than more staff and overhead. They only contributed a token amount towards GDA scholarships while asking the clubs to basically take a $ hit by reducing their fees and offering scholarships. In BDA the MLS clubs have to cover all the costs, all in the hope that one day they get a few homegrowns out of the process. Limiting their scouting to DA teams is also going to miss plenty of outside talent as well. It just makes it easy for USSF.

There's definitely ways to make it work. What is required is an organization that knows what they're doing and instills confidence among participants. As soon as USSF started announcing all the clubs they were letting into the system many saw the writing on the wall. It's pretty much played out as many predicted. Now they're supposedly scrambling to cut teams (which they should) but not giving clubs and players sufficient time to find alternatives.

                Any updates on Nycfc/wcfc

Any news on the Nycfc/wcfc 03 team? Confirmation on # of DA girls and # of WC girls?

There are just 3 players on NYCFC that ate 2002 currently and 13 that are 2003/2004.

It’s so true. How can these clubs be called elite? And then you add a few NPL clubs too. What a mess. How are our girls suppose to get better playing in games like these?

I don't think you can look at the older age groups who just joined DA as a litmus test. Many don't have the best players since they were already 2-3 years into their HS careers and didn't want to give it up. You really need to look at the younger ages, who are more likely to go "all-in" since they don't have HS experience to give up.

Looking that over, I see much more competitive games at that ages.

And what happens when they are at an age to make the HS decision, especially in light of it being such a poor league? They will go play HS. Had USSF started with just the younger years, say U12-U15 and then built itself up from there then it may have worked over time. But no, they wanted to go for ECNL's jugular from the get go.

Too many poor quality clubs+ too many average players+high cost+travel+HS sacrifice = poor value to the consumer.

If you haven't played in it, you are less likely to join than if you already played in it. "Poor" is a subjective term, as it relates to other opportunities. Sure, there will be a couple, but it's not the draw for many that is so often communicated.

Value is in the eye of the beholder. Better quality clubs overall than were there previously + better players + equal costs + equal travel + no HS = good value to the consumer.

Bottom line, you can't compare some of the clubs that were referenced at the older ages; need to look at the younger to see how they are doing.

You are not looking very hard then. Let me give you an example. Take the 05 NYCFC team. If they played the 05 WCFC team, they would be on the losing end of the game. If they played the 06 WCFC team, again on the losing end of the game. I do think they could match up against the 07 team though. Do I think our girls untalented, not at all. I think they didn’t attract enough talent, because players wanted to stay in the ECNL. —a frustrated 05 NYCFC parent

Honestly, you should fall on your knees and thank god that your kid got to train with Kaz and Fredy, instead to whine and bash, hope your kid enjoys the C team....

Dlck-measuring on team quality rarely is a worthwhile discussion.

Goal should be to find the best solution for YOU, not for what works for someone else.
