USSF should provide scholarships to as many GDA players as possible and continue to select all of the national youth players from GDA. ECNL is pay-to-play and always will be.....

Yeah and GDA isn't? With far more travel expenses and a much lower down side! Go ahead and select all of the NT players from the trash heap after this year .... they will never win another game .... ha ha ha ha .... you lost!

We just had 4 high level D1 coaches at our game 2 weeks ago and they all told our kids they don’t care if they play for GDA, ECNL or NL. They want competitive players. My daughter wants to be an engineer, not a professional soccer player. She could care less about NT call ups

Is your D in GDA, ECNL, or NL? and yes I agree it doesnt matter where you play. I am just curious where your at

Its really weird to see how much people care about whether GDA or ECNL are good leagues or not. Shouldn't you just care about the platform giving exposure for your kid to colleges? If that means ECNL, great. If it means GDA, thats great too. WHy does it matter which one is "the best" if choosing either can fulfill what you need?

I totally agree but furthermore, where is the best fit for your child to develop? If they can develop with a solid club that does ECNL then great. If they can develop with a solid club DA then great. There are ****dy clubs that are in ECNL there are good clubs in ECNL. There are ****dy clubs in DA there are good clubs in DA

Agreed...but thats a different debate. Northeast is ripe with money taking clubs that are more focused on profit than player development. But there are some good clubs out there that do focus on player development but if they are not winning than they are viewed as No Good

Well put. People should just go with the option that works best for them. So many factors to consider - have you already been at the team and have relationships, how far is it, who are the coaches, do you care about HS, what is the travel, will the schedule balance with school, where will you fit in terms of positions especially if there' sa NT caliber player in oyur desired spot, etc. So much stuff to think about so how can someone just say "this league is better than that one."

No one says that except someone trying to make money from this league or that league. Everyone else just does as you describe is just annoyed at the mess.

Doubt that is a parent. Maybe for fun if they are bored but are they really that invested in a kid soccer league? The big guns are likely biz insiders hawking their stuff. Few others would bother or be bothered by the comments.

I guess we'll never know. If it's a Club, I'd be ashamed to be associated with that, personally.
