Is the argument no formal soccer education and let them play at the young ages on their own or no rules set-out by a governing body? Not sure if I understand what is the original argument.

I don't like common-core and agree local level control is best. But I have no issues with a mandated time to be in school and standardized testing. I see the latter as more of the DA philosophy and not the former.

Yeah I get what you are saying even though I have a ulittle in a DA club and I really agree with what I see right now. That is; all kids play equally, they rotate positions frequently, everyone plays goalie, there are no A&B teams, they rotate kids between teams for each game. They have a limited number of kids on the team so usually the have at most 2 subs. Hence, the kids play a lot. They instruct the kids while playing without joysticking, i.e., take the touch, slow down, look for an option, etc. Don't get me wrong, there are coaches better than other coaches but in general the above is what the experience has been for the last 4 years.

Kaz had access to tons of other high level players to fill those rosters out when needed. At these ages it is common to have 3 or 4 girls injured and unavailable at any given time.

But you are talking about games. i dont really care about those in early development. Early development is first touch, manipulating the ball with different surfaces of the foot, ball striking etc. Most players i see in the girls game have clearly not mastered that.

Once you can control the ball, you can learn positional discipline, different tactics etc.

Here, we jump to games because that is the only way most parents can measure what they feel they are paying for !!

Its a good question. I see it as; coach license, training per week, playing out of the back, etc. But I admit in sport it is not easily defined and is why most people go solely to win-loss.

Why do you insist on entirely sucking the fun out of this. Soccer is a sport - entertainment at its heart. If your kid has talent and want to pursue it at a higher level, great but stop with the standardized testing. They are all up to their eyeballs in that garbage. Virtually NONE of these kids are going pro so just stop.

Some didn't even bother to do that, give up H.S. soccer, the wheels of this GDA are falling off the wagon...

Huh? The point was he kept the rosters small and when needed would find kids to fill in as needed. How do you assume my kid didn't make the cut and was not a full time player?

Every player on those teams is a full time player
