Regardless, the top 12-14 players will make it and the rest from either team simply dont matter except from a business perspective and those nods go to loyal customers in almost all cases.
Moron, where did the money from the DA girls go? Everyone knows that NYCFC was WC Delux, and they are just as much loyal as your kid, it’s the same fcuking club you stupid fcuk

Both groups were told they were in house evaluations. Since you are obviously an outsider, no concern of yours, is it???

If you were there at all that day, you would have seen that the younger ecnl teams outshined the DA teams. And from what we saw, the 03 DA girls really showed strong against the WC girls. I didn’t stay around for the oldest group, but I have no doubt the ECNL team showed better. I know that friends from NYSC will be bringing their daughters to the open tryouts as well

World Class is now in position to be the strongest club in NY if they do this right. They will put the best players whether DA or ECnL, on the field next year.

This is clearly a tough situation as tryouts always are. But you all are fortunate to have intense competition for spots. Every competitive player out there wishes for that situation at the tryouts for their teams. The flip side is not enough competition for spots which is a common occurrence these days. That is worse if you are trying to work hard, improve and become the best player you can be.

OK, I cant wait until they post the rosters. Would love to see all of the dropped jaws on NYCFC parents that are left out in the cold you stupid fuk! NYCFC parents think that their kids are super special and deserve all the spots in the club they are slumping back to because they ran the competition of the NPL league they played in (and had less than mediocre results in showcases). Your precious' are not as special as you think and those other kids, contrary to what Kaz told you, can also play high level soccer. Here your club is, only 2 years later, pandering to come back to the league you all shunned and chastised as trash. Mouth, meet foot; Rubber, meet road.

Any word if they will be granted two ECNL teams per age group?

No need to be that extreme, but the reality is that beyond maybe the top 5 players, the NYCFC players are largely interchangeable with ECNL players. There won't be muhc displacement at WC. At least with the club telling them so early they have time to try and find another home.

Agreed. Nothing is more motivating than "failure" ... i understand that it is a harsh term for not making a team, but for many, that is failure. It's mostly too bad that many kids were never allowed to fail much earlier and frequently. I honestly feel that it would serve many kids well and motivate them to do better than they have otherwise done.

I am interested to see if all this ECNL/DA talk trickles down to the younger age groups this year, who have tryouts starting this weekend. Bet NYSC is worried about losing their top 06, 07, 08 kids, too since WCFC is again being perceived as the destination club in the area.

From what we saw, the 06 group will be an extraordinarily strong team. I think that you can expect a good showing at the 07 and 08 teams. If the wcfc 05 & 06 groups are any indication of their training, that should be the destination club for everyone with a daughter who has talent

If anything this debacle + the calendar year change has shown parents that you need to re-evaluate year by year. Everything keeps changing each year, so no need to marry yourself to one place for too long. If your kid has skill they'll find a home. It's the insecure parents of average players that get nervous

Yes, the one issue I have with all of the constant upheaval is that aside from just the soccer part it is hard to just move from team to team on a yearly basis from a social perspective. I guess it is just balancing what is needed at the time.

Yes it sucks but you also have to look out for the best interest of your child. Sometimes that means leaving. We're all sick of the constant change. What will be new and improved next year?

Who knows? Adopt of a strategy of lowered expectations and escape from the rat race of the youth soccer industry. The next best thing is never the next best thing a season or two later. You will go crazy if you think you have it figured out and then every season have to go back to being confused Practice, play, never expect too much as it does not exist. Try to find some fun for your kid
