Too much. That can't be true.

Maybe not 100% true, but I would say that a HUGE factor is her, that and GDA loves mid-level MPL clubs that are shut-out by the ECNL Organized Crime Syndicate.

I have no idea. Good luck to her and all the players out there. It always feel like we love we this sport in spite of all the clubs and leagues and not because of them.

They pull your kid out of their social environment by banning HS play. The mixed age groups at the older ages see half the kids dropped from their teams even if they are highly skilled. At a "league" level they have zero interest in getting your kids into college. Their schedule requires kids to miss school and they seem to have a knack for scheduling events that conflict with things like NY regents exams. Add the expense of long distance travel that is inherent with a national structure and it's just not a great place for most kids to be unless they are one of the handful in the entire country that actually have a real shot at making the NT's.

Well said. Why do kids have to miss exam week to play soccer? Deal breaker right there. If they want to attract players, fix that.

Other than having the kids miss things like NY Regents, not sure how much of the rest of it is "harmful". Agree that it may not be "a great place for most kids", but "harmful" seems a bit much.

That says it all about US Soccer, doesn’t it? So if the best U14 player in the world plays for her father coached AYSO league, she will get overlooked for someone who plays on Paul Riley’s Albertson team that has never won a game in a weak league .

And btw, that goes against everything US Soccer put out it December, where they claimed they were going more grassroots, to find NT players. In that statement they said they were scouting DA games and practices less and having more Training Centers based on club recommendations. All clubs, not just DA

I completely agree that SSS was granted GDA because of her!!! How can you sell the BS of "GDA improving NT" if your top YNT player isn't playing GDA, lol? Kind of like when the GDA East POY got a waiver for the Fall so she could play HS...
Couldn't make this crap up if u tried!

Schools in much of the rest of the country are already done by then. Besides, USSF doesn't care. DA kids already have to miss more school during the year because of the game ratio rules and they often don't do events around long weekends to help reduce missed school days (eg last weekend was a 3 day weekend and ECNL had an event in TX; PDA is Memorial Day weekend).

She wasn't the only NT player to say no thanks to GDA either.
