Too many people overpay for exposure. Dont you understand that ability creates exposure? We have college coaches coming to practice to watch certain players. If parents paid more for things that actually made their kids better, exposure would be anon issue.

You're a sucker then. There's no reason you should have to make those sacrifices so you can fly across country to play soccer when proper scheduling/planning by the league could eliminate that

We WANT to do it. Sure, I'd love to spend a week in Tahiti, and if I sacrificed a lot, and I mean A LOT, we could.

So, no reason other than it's fun spending time together, being involved in the beautiful game, and seeing the country.

What is possibly wrong with that?

Hell, I'd rather watch a few games and spend time in the Rockies than sit on a beach anyway.

Actually, this started when the comment was made that "Nobody wants to travel across the country". All I said is that we do. We made a decision to spend out vacation dollar differently from some others do.

No vitriol, no anger, that's actually coming at me. I've said every time everyone do what that want and can with what they have. But, and I am clear on this, some people say they cannot afford it, while booking their vacation for somewhere else. That's fine, but what it shows is they CAN afford it, but don't WANT to.

That's their decision.

Side note, I stand by myself during games because too many people like yourself complain all game long about everything.

Yes - that is what helped her. Go with the best training and training environment. The league is nonsense. Every one of these oversold leagues has teams with good instruction and some with bad instruction.

In only slightly more than a year ... this is the CT NYCFC guy .... he is over the top about how his kid blossomed in the last 15 months all because GDA now holds her reigns. $5 she has never played on foreign soil and her one NTC invite didnt go well (if she goe one at all). Big talker, totally enamored with GDA.

Again great for you. having a soccer league that doubles as a vacation planner is your cup of tea. Lots of others would much prefer to be able to get the soccer part without the forced travel that you love so much.

It forces very good players out of the high levels of the sport entirely which does not do my player or your player any good at all.

More importantly, the cost excludes an enormous amount of talent that simply can't afford it. If you think your kid is on the best team she absolutely could be, then you are nuts .... .she is not.

I don't think I've ever said anything about my kid's abilities, her team level, or anything else.

My only point has been we found a way to accept the travel by eliminating other travel, and by extension enjoying it best we can.

As for the cost excluding some people, that is true. For those who cannot do anything else, and the travel is a backbreaker, you are not in the category I am referring to. That is, sadly, an unfortunate reality of many kid's activities.

Ok. This is from a parent whose kid is first year in GDA. we made a "conscious (sic)?" decision which we regret.
We don't like the travel. Missing high school days, very expensive and limiting family time including family vacation time. The GDA travel has a negative impact on all the above.
GDA travel is not a substitute for family vacation even if the entire family goes but then the other kids miss school as well. This does not even take into account the issue of not being able to play high school sports.
For kids who are potential NT and pro material, great but honestly, not for most good players and their families.
I think we will be one and done.
