Where are all the guys who were blaming World Class for the demise of NYCFC GDA now? The people at WC have been trying to warn you guys.

If it's true, it is funny in many ways. The warning signs were there all along. But I do feel bad for kids and families and yet another year of a soccer-landscape-mine-field scenario.

Why? With US Soccer out of the way trying to force every club to play the same way (robotically), it should open up door for top clubs to step up. It is in their best interest financially now to put forth something and show their kids are top players and get recruited. Furthermore, different clubs or teams will play different styles and players can try to find better fits. One-size-fits-all USSF soccer was the dumbest idea I have ever heard and I still hate it. Let the clubs compete for business anyway they see fit (price, differentiation, location, coaching, commits, more practices/week, less practices/week, HS Soccer, no HS soccer, more games/week, less games/week, league they are in .....) ..... GO!

And some laughed at the other clubs that bailed out after one year. They saw the writing on the wall

Great for consumers, lousy for improving US soccer.

Your logic is why we suck at soccer internationally, you must be related to the real Donald J.

Nothing has changed except the sign on the door. GDA changed very little. Just gave parents something to argue over. The coaches who were good, still are. Same with the bad ones. Nothing was stopping anyone stepping up pre or post GDA

your post iss waaaay off. No one from US soccer mandated any style of play or monitored it to see if it was adhered to. The problem here is people THINK they know what was being asked for/executed and they really dont. Kas ECNL and Kaz GDA were essentially the same.

The rest of your post also makes no sense. All the options you mention were there all along. Nothing new is being created is it.

they had every right to laugh. the Clubs that bailed early mistreated the kids. They should never have entered to begin with if they were not going to give it a real effort.

I laughed and still do because it reminded me exactly what drives this stuff - money.

Last week my daughter was talking to her future college coach, and he told her that he prefers that players participate in ECNL, since that style of play is much closer to women’s college soccer, which was really disheartening. It’s completely possible that my daughter will have a harder time fitting into their program, because she close GDA.

The rest of GDA is not NYCFC.

Wow, that much impact on her in only 1 year? She learned nothing the previous 17 years? USSF is absolutely amazing that they could get your daughter to be a superstar and a scholarship so quickly!
