After watching the U20 team play last night, I was really impressed with the young player from World Class. I believe she was the youngest player on the field and in my opinion, played with the most heart. She got herself into some great goal scoring positions often and was the biggest threat on the field, both with scoring opportunities and also with putting the French defense under pressure. Very impressed.
I’m not with her current club, so please don’t take this as an advertisement for them, but this is more of a she deserves some applause and I’m trying to change up the vibe of this thread

Impossible on anonymous chat forums. U brought her up and she will likely be attacked shortly. Happens without fail every time so it is never productive to discuss a specific player outside of a professional player.

My kids actually play against WC. I know I will get some disbelievers or whatever, but its true. I agree on the intensity part, but the younger player was over her head and a turnover machine. The goal was well taken assuming it was a shot and not a cross. Then vibe changed when the UVA kid came in. She was a difference maker. I think she will make it to the u20 WC as a super sub. She's gotten to be more than just pure speed that she was a couple of years ago,

RJ definitely has really grown into a great player, no doubt. I understand she was a former WC player as well. She hopefully will be the difference maker the USWNT needs. As for SK, I give that young lady a lot of credit. She does need a year or 2 to fill out in stature, but she has the soccer intelligence that few on that team have. I see her as an eventual Megan Rapinoe, if she can fill out enough not to get pushed off the ball. Either way, both girls represented the Northeast well last night. Bravo!

How does US Soccer schedule the Girls Summer Showcase during regents week? I get missing a few days during December, but they can’t miss state testing. I checked ECnL’s June Showcase, and it is after Regents. What’s up US Soccer?

I wonder the exact same thing. How does that work? I cant have my player even consider it because I dont understand how to miss school during that June time period. How do players do that - real question.

Check the rosters and you will see that US soccer had hardly any NY players - small few. They dont need or care about accommodating players in NY state.

They don't care about school at all. If they did they're try and schedule events around holiday periods so at least kids would miss a little less school. The also wouldn't make events run over so many days. Playing three games in three days isn't going to kill kids.

I agree. I have a U14 player so school isn’t so much the issue, as missing her brothers graduation. I’m not sending my 12 year old across the country while the rest of our family stays home to celebrate His accomplishment. This is insane

Smart. I knew a family that once had their 12 year old son miss a family wedding for a tournament. If your club balks tell them to piss off and find a new club. You can't get those moments back, ever.

On the DA website for the Spring Showcase it only lists u14, u15, u16/17 as the age groups. Is the oldest age group not included in this showcase? Is this the same for the June showcase?

19’s go out to Colorado with the 15’s and 17’s in April. 14’s only go to California in June.

Everyone goes in June; a lot of schools around here aren't out yet, especially if there's a lot of snow day makeups. April event doesn't overlap with a lot of spring vacations and if your team makes playoffs you're back at it for July as well.
