Right??? My neighbor's kid got drafted by the Cleveland Indians 2 years ago but declined the offer because he didn't want to wear the uniform that had "Chief Wahoo" (the little red faced caricature of a Native American tribal chief) on it. He said it went against his Christian values of love, justice and peace. Now the Indians have unveiled their new uniforms for the 2019 season and there's no Chief Wahoo on it anymore. My neighbor's kid said he'll play for Cleveland now because the team uniform aligns with his personal beliefs, but he hasn't heard from the front office! We're gonna start an online petition!

Good point. Enjoy the freedom to stick by your personal beliefs but realize that is YOUR choice and you probably won’t get the job if you refuse to follow company/team policies and rules. Everyone has different beliefs and cultures so not every company/team will be a place where everyone will want to work. The rest of the team (including the Christians) supported the uniforms. Simply move on to something more in line with your own beliefs if it’s that important to you. Nothing wrong with making a personal stand but whining about it is silly. I’m sure she’s happier not playing on a team and in a sport (any sport really!) that has such a high percentage of gay players and fans.

Of course they supported it. It is 2019. There are thousands and thousands of gay Christians and they are tired of being told they are flawed, or sinners, or less than equal because of their sexual orientation. Changes in the church move at a glacial pace but it is time for this attitude to permanently disappear from the church and everywhere else.

Chief Wahoo was their official mascot .... the gay flag better not be the official flag of the USNT! Someone had an agenda and adopted it ... it does not affect how players play in the field and it should not be forced down the entire teams throats if you do not support it ..... if the USNT decides to put swastikas and burning crosses on their jerseys for the WC, do all of the players have to support that too? The USNT and USSF should endorse soccer not liberal agendas (or agendas of any kind except for winning every game and tournament that they ever play in).
